Pokémon Masters Day is back once again! This special Monthly Event, which first ran back in November 2021, currently runs every month in Pokémon Masters EX from the 24th at 11:00 pm (PDT), through to the 25th at 10:59 pm (PDT). All players who log in today will receive a special present of 500 gems from Pikachu, and have the opportunity to take advantage of special events and co-op battles. As always, several Sync Pairs are also receiving upgrades to their Sync Grids alongside this monthly event.

A round up all the new Pokémon TCG cards announced in Japan this past week

A variety of new cards that will be released in Japan on April 14th as part of the Snow Hazard and Clay Burst expansion for the Scarlet & Violet series of the Pokémon Trading Card game have been revealed this past week in updates on the Pokémon Trading Card Game's official Japanese homepage and YouTube channel, as well as through information included in the Pikachu ex and Pawmot ex Starter Set released on March 24th, and on a poster displayed at Pokémon Gym events in Japan. Cards from this set will be released internationally as part of the Scarlet & Violet: Paldea Evolved expansion on June 9th.

Pocket Monsters Music Festival to air on TV Tokyo next Friday, including a performance of Dokimeki Diary, the opening theme from the new Pokémon anime

A special Pocket Monsters Music Festival (アニメポケットモンスター音楽祭) will be airing next Friday on TV Tokyo at 6:55pm (JST), in the normal timeslot for the Pokémon anime. This hour-long special will feature a wide array of artists singing Pokémon opening and ending themes from the entire length of the series, including a performance of Dokimeki Diary (ドキメキダイアリー), the Japanese opening theme for Pokémon Horizons: The Series, which fans were given their first taste of earlier tonight in the newly released 2nd preview trailer.

Second trailer released for Pokémon Horizons, the new Pokémon anime series - Japanese trailer includes music from the new opening theme

A new trailer for Pokémon Horizons, the upcoming new Pokémon anime series, aired this evening in Japan after the end of the final episode of Pokémon Journeys. Shortly afterwards, the trailer was uploaded to the English language Official Pokémon YouTube channel, together with English subtitles. A new Japanese press also released statements from asmi and Chinozo, the singer and producer of the Japanese opening theme for the new series. Pokémon Horizons: The Series will begin broadcasting on TV Tokyo in Japan with a 1 hour special starting 6:55pm (JST) on April 14th, and internationally later in 2023.

First details released on the Scarlet & Violet - Paldea Evolved expansion for the Pokémon TCG, launching internationally from June 9th

The first Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Scarlet & Violet series, Paldea Evolved, has been officially announced by The Pokémon Company International. This expansion will be the international equivalent of the Snow Hazard and Clay Burst expansions releasing in Japan on April 14th, including cards from those sets, as well as cards from the Triplet Beat subset that released in Japan on March 10th.

Pokémon × Kogei: Playful Encounters of Art and Japanese Craft exhibit debuts in Japan

A brand new art exhibit has debuted in the Japanese National Crafts Museum in Kanagawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. The Pokémon × Kogei: Playful Encounters of Art and Japanese Craft exhibit features the work of 20 individuals, from living national treasures to young rising stars, taking shape as pottery, attire, metalwork, and other Japanese crafts. The exhibit runs from March 21st until June 11th, 2023, excluding Mondays. There are about 70 works, featuring Pokémon from Generations 1-8.

Ball Guy makes his Pokémon Masters EX debut alongside new Story, Expedition, Egg, and Gear events

In what seems like the culmination of Pokémon Masters EX's 3.5 year anniversary celebrations, Galar's own Ball Guy is making his debut today in Pokémon Masters EX in a Variety Scout together with his partner Pokémon Amoonguss. Alongside this scout, Ball Guy will also be taking center stage in a variety of in-game events, including brand new Story and Expedition events.

Only one week remains to purchase Pokémon games from the eShop on 3DS and Wii U - service ends on March 27th

There's only seven days remaining for 3DS owners to purchase games from the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops before both services shut down on the 27th of March, 2023. Though purchased games can still be downloaded after this point, this means that Pokémon fans will have to move swiftly to get their hands on a wide range of games that are only widely available via Nintendo eShop. Notably, this list also includes Pokémon Bank; though Bank (and its associated DLC, the Poké Transporter) cannot be downloaded after this date, the Pokémon Bank service will become free of charge for users who have already downloaded it by this date. Players are encouraged to visit the eShop while they still can, so that they are not limited to expensive second-hand physical copies when wanting to delve into Pokémon video game history.

Pokémon Company launches website and social media accounts for Project Snorlax

The Pokémon Company has today opened up a website, Twitter account and Instagram account for Project Snorlax (プロジェクトカビゴン). Details on the project are currently sparce. While it seems likely that this project will tie-in in some fashion to Pokémon Sleep, no explicit mention of the upcoming spin-off title has been made in any of the initial posts for the project.

Rica Matsumoto to perform Mezase Pokémon Master -with my friends- tonight on THE FIRST TAKE at 22:00 JST

Episode 301 of THE FIRST TAKE, which airs in a bit over an hour from when this story is going up, will feature a special performance by Rica Matsumoto, Ash's Japanese voice actress, performing Mezase Pokemon Master -with my friends-, the arrangement of the first Japanese opening theme of the Pokémon anime that was originally made to commemorate the anime's 25th anniversary, and which is being used as the opening for the final epilogue arc that's currently airing in Japan. In addition to Rica Matsumoto herself, the performance will also feature a live band, electric violin, and chorus.

More concept art and cast information released for the upcoming new Pokémon anime series, with the first look at the mysterious Explorers

After the broadcast of the most recent anime episode in Japan earlier tonight, we finally have a name for the mysterious character for the new Pokémon anime series first seen in the background of the main visual released on March 3rd. Amejio (アメジオ) is a member of an organisation called the Explorers, who seem to have an agenda that puts them at odds with Liko and Roy. The new Pokémon series will begin broadcasting on TV Tokyo in Japan with a 1 hour special starting 6:55pm (JST) on April 14th.

Professor Willow’s research runs wild in Pokémon GO next week for the Let's GO event, another Team GO Rocket takeover event starts March 25th

In the latest update on Pokémon GO's official site, Niantic has released details on a pair of events coming to Pokémon GO across late March. The Let's GO event starting March 21st will feature a collection of different Pokémon including the Hex Nut Pokémon Meltan. Running alongside this event will be the latest Team GO Rocket Takeover, which will start March 25th. The Team GO Rocket Takeover will see Trainers completing Special Research and chasing down Giovanni before he can complete an evil plot involving Shadow Regice.

Pokémon partners with Night Tempo to release a remix mashup music video of the original Japanese and English Pokémon anime opening themes

The Pokémon Company has released a special music video in collaboration with Night Tempo, a maker of "aesthetic music" from South Korea. The video, which was uploaded simultaneously to the official English and Japanese Pokémon YouTube channels, presents a mashup remix of Aim to Be a Pokémon Master (めざせポケモンマスター Mezase Pokémon Master), the original Japanese theme song of the Pokémon anime, with its English counterpart, Gotta Catch 'Em All!.
