Today's video on the Pokémon Trading Card Game's official Japanese YouTube channel has unveiled three new cards from the upcoming Battle Partners expansion: Lotad, Lombre, and Ludicolo. These cards will be released in Japan later this month on January 24th, 2025. Cards from this set will be released internationally on March 28th as part of the Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together expansion.
The Pokémon Company has announced a small and sweet little collection which will be coming to Pokémon Centers in Japan beginning January 18th, and to the Pokémon Center Online on January 17th. The drop contains only five new items, two of which are boxes of assorted chocolates. The star of the collection is the Pikachu plush holding a heart (¥2,200 ($13.94 USD)), which is designed with dots for eyes, similar to its appearance in the monpoké line of merchandise from the Pokémon Center.
The Japanese Pokémon website has opened pre-orders of a huge range of merchandise themed after Pokémon Masters EX, with acrylic stands, acrylic photo blocks, postcards, can badges, tapestry, stickers and plushes themed after the in-game Lodge Decoration plushes. This new merchandise line is being released as part of the Strongest Trainers Festival, project focusing on the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Masters EX which aims to showcase the appeal of Pokémon Trainers.
The Pokémon Center online stores in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada have released the final Monthly Dragon Type Pin, featuring the three Tatsugiri forms (Curly, Stretchy and Droopy respectively). As usual for this line of pins, the United States and Canadian stores quickly ran out of stock shortly after release, however as of the time of writing the United Kingdom store still has stock. It is unknown if this line of goods will be restocked in the future, as this line was a celebration of the Chinese Year of the Dragon in 2024.

With today's announcement of the Scarlet & Violet - Journey Together expansion, we also now have an official date for the start of the next Pokémon Trading Card Game Standard Format Rotation. The Standard format for the 2025-2026 season will begin for in-person events on April 11th, and will come into force for online play in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live app from March 27th. From these dates, cards with the "F" regulation mark will no longer be legal for play in Standard format, with players only able to use cards with the "G" and "H" regulation marks (and any future released marks), or which have received reprints with those marks. Cards will become legal for tournament play two weeks after their international release date.
The next Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Scarlet & Violet Series, Journey Together, has been officially announced in a press release by The Pokémon Company International. This expansion, which launches internationally on March 28th, is expected to primarily contain cards from the Japanese Battle Partners expansion, which launches there on January 24th. For the very first time, this set will also be released in Latin American Spanish.
