The Pokémon Company International has announced the Pokémon Players Cup 25th Anniversary Invitational, an event spotlighting some of the best competitive Pokémon players ever, as part of the continuing celebrations for the twenty-fifth anniversary of Pokémon. The event will feature the top eight Pokémon TCG players and top eight video game players from around the world in exciting head-to-head matches.

Niantic has launched the fifth anniversary event for Pokémon GO. The event, which already started in some timezones earlier today, begins for trainers from July 6 at 10 .a.m local time, and concludes on July 15, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Niantic has announced that real-world Pokémon GO Fest 2021 celebrations will be held in more than 20 cities in the United States, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. These in-person events are scheduled for day 1 of the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. To celebrate The Pokémon Company International's newly-designated Bidoof Day on July 1, 2021, Pokémon Trading Card Game Online and Pokémon Masters EX have announced special log-in bonus for their games. In Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, if you log-in from July 1 to July 7, 2021, you can receive a one-time gift of Bidoof-themed card sleeves, a deck box, and a coin. If you log-in to Pokémon Masters EX from June 30, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. PDT onward, you will receive an unspecified amount of free gems. The Bidoof Breakout event currently occurring in Pokémon GO, updates with new elements that will extend to July 1, 2021, a newly designated Bidoof Day. It will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. Features that are available throughout the Bidoof Breakout event will remain available on Bidoof Day. The Plump Mouse Pokémon will be appearing in the wild at an incredibly high rate. A 4× Catch XP bonus will be active. Bidoof caught on this day will know Superpower, and you'll be able to use a Charged TM during the event to teach Bidoof Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, or Thunderbolt. The official Japanese Pokémon Card Game website has announced the eighth subset of the Pokémon Card Game Sword & Shield Era, 25th Anniversary Collection

Several Pokémon with tentacles will be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through June 27, 2021, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. These Pokémon include Octillery, Malamar, and Grapploct. Shiny Grapploct can also be encountered. To encounter these Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle, you'll need to connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet through the Y-Comm or by selecting Mystery Gift in the X menu, then selecting Get the Wild Area News. After that, whenever you see a pillar of light shining from a Pokémon Den in the Wild Area, you can walk up to the Pokémon Den and interact with it to start a Max Raid Battle. This event does not affect the Pokémon encountered within Dynamax Adventures.

Niantic has announced full details for day 2 of the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 which will focus on Raids. It will feature every Legendary Pokémon that have ever appeared in Pokémon GO. It will take place on Sunday, July 18, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. Each Pokémon will be appearing in five-star Raid Battles during one of the four themed hours that will be on rotation throughout the event. The expansion will feature a range of beloved characters from across the Pokémon franchise, as well as popular card artwork and gameplay mechanics spanning the history of the Pokémon TCG.

The official Pokémon Café Mix Japanese website has announced that, to commemorate the 1st anniversary of Pokémon Café Mix, all players will be rewarded with 2,500 Golden Acorns and 25 Helping Paws. The Pokémon Organized Play has announced details for the 2022 Championship Series season, under the assumption that most play will be able to resume in some form over the next 12 months. The health and safety of the communities remain to be the most important aspect of resuming live events. The timing for the next live Play! Pokémon events will be determined by the health mandates, guidelines, and recommendations provided by appropriate government agencies. Play! Pokémon events have currently only resumed in Australia and New Zealand. The Pokémon World Championships 2022 are anticipated to take place in London in August 2022, over the period of four days, beginning on a Thursday.

Niantic has announced a number of changes which will be coming to Pokémon GO. There will be new feature bonuses coming soon, and some current feature bonuses will be removed. The official Pokémon Café Mix Japanese website has announced that they have opened registration to players in Japan for a closed beta testing of a renewed version of Pokémon Café Mix. The application ends on June 30, 2021, while the testing is scheduled to be held this Summer. The renewed version will be launched this Autumn.

The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Global Exhibition, a tournament featuring eight of the top players from around the world, will be held this October. The tournament will consist of the highest-ranking players from Europe, North America, Latin America, and Oceania participating in the Pokémon Players Cup IV Global Finals which will be held later this month. In Japan, the competitors will be those who have achieved excellent results in the Masters division of the Pokémon Japan Championships 2021 scheduled to be held from July 17 to July 18, 2021 in Japan. For South Korea, the winner of the Pokémon Trainers Cup 2021, which will be held from July 12 to August 2021, will be representing them.
