The first episode of the third season of the POKÉTOON series has been released on the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel. The episode is titled 「めがはなせないね ガルーラ」 ("Can't Take My Eyes Off Kangaskhan"), and features an girl named Yurado who lives with a Kangaskhan and dreams of becoming a Pokémon battle commentator like her mother.

Mega Lucario is the latest Pokémon to join the fray in Pokémon UNITE. Mega Lucario is separate Unite License from Lucario's regular Unite License. It is a Melee All-Rounder with Expert difficulty that deals Physical damage. It can Mega Evolve for a short while after using its Unite Move Aura Cannon.

To celebrate the relaunch of the official Pokémon websites for Asian regions with a new look, a campaign is being held where visitors can complete "missions" (which involve exploring the various areas of the new website) to download exclusive wallpapers for their PC and smartphone. The campaign will be available until October 8th 2025 on the official Pokémon websites for the following regions: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The Pokémon Company in India has announced that the unique Hindi-language names of Pokémon will be updated to be based on English names of Pokémon, to align them with Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali-language content distributed in India and provide a unified and consistent experience to all fans across India. Unique Hindi names for Pokémon were introduced with the launch of Hindi-language support for Pokémon GO on September 15th, 2023, and were derived from Hindi-root words.

Pokémon UNITE updated to Version ver.1.20.2.7 at 7:00am (UTC) on September 25th. This update, dubbed "Celestial Rumble [Part 2]" (Japanese: 「蒼天震鳴 Part2」), brings balance adjustments for various Pokémon, alongside bug fixes and Shop and Event updates.

The South Korean girl group Hearts2Hearts (하츠투하츠) has collaborated with Pokémon Legends: Z-A to release the music video for their song ‘Pretty Please’ as a pre-release single from their upcoming album ‘Focus’.

The release date for Mega Lucario, the next Pokémon to join the fray in Pokémon UNITE has been updated — it will now be available from September 28th. Mega Lucario will be a separate license from Lucario's existing Unite License and will be an All-Rounder. Mega Lucario was originally revealed to be joining Pokémon UNITE on October 3rd, along with Mega Charizard X on October 24th, and two more Mega Evolved Pokémon joining the fray by the end of this year.

The Pokémon Music Collective project has released a new song: "GwGw" by Non, which depicts a lazy, carefree vacation with Psyduck, a Pokémon who escapes from a hectic daily life. The song was released for digital streaming on various platforms on September 24th, 2025. The song was produced by the Japanese rock band KANA-BOON, with lyrics by Maguro Taniguchi and additional vocals by Psyduck.

The next arc of the Pokémon animated series, known as Pocket Monsters: Rising Again (Japanese: 「ポケットモンスター ライジングアゲイン」 Poketto Monsutā Raijingu Agein) will be debuting in Japan starting Friday, October 31st. The series, known internationally as Pokémon Horizons: The Series, has completed its fifth arc, メガボルテージ Mega Voltage, which aired in Japan on September 19th. After a 2 week break, the series will resume on October 10th with a 3-episode mini-arc, エピソード：メガシンカ Episode: Mega Evolution, which will take place between the one-year timeskip between the fourth and fifth arcs, and follow the characters Roy, and Uruto during their Mega Evolution training.

As the conclusion of the Summer Watch Party, a marathon of the first three Pokémon movies will be streamed live on the Pokémon TV YouTube channel today at 7pm (UTC) / 3pm (EDT) / 12pm (PDT). The three movies were also released individually on the channel for limited times over the past three months. For this tripe-feature marathon, three separate streams, in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese have been showcased on the channel.

The latest Pokémon to join the fray in Pokémon UNITE is Empoleon. It is a Melee All-Rounder with Intermediate difficulty that deals Special damage. As is usual for a new Pokémon release, a new set of Holowear has also been made available, with Regal Style: Empoleon now available in Zirco Trading, featuring Audio/Visual FX for Movement. To celebrate Empoleon's addition to the game, a special in-game event will be held from Friday, September 19th to Tuesday, October 14th, where players can complete missions and collect special coins that can be exchanged for Empoleon's Unite License.

Project VOLTAGE High ↑, the continuation to the art and music collaboration Project VOLTAGE 18 Types/Songs between Pokémon and the popular Volcaloid character Hatsune Miku, will be posting its third song, 「オーパーツ」 OOPÁRTS, by Japanese musician and producer 煮ル果実 NILFRUITS this Thursday December 18th, at 8:10pm (JST) / 11:10am (UTC) / 4:10am (PDT).

As part of a Summer Watch Party, the first three Pokémon movies are being released for a limited time on the Pokémon TV YouTube channel. The third movie, Pokémon 3: The Movie, is now available to watch from September 5th. This upload features audio tracks in 14 languages and closed captions in 12 languages.

Pokémon UNITE updated to Version 1.20.1.3 at 7am (UTC) on September 5th. This update, rolled out just one day after the previous update which added Pawmot to the game, brings emergency balance adjustments and bug fixes. Specifically, it was found that Pawmot would be knocked out more easily than anticipated, so its durability and Unite Move effect have been improved to utilize it as a sustained fighter. It also fixes experience gain in the early stages of the new Theia Sky Ruins (Groudon) map, which would often make matches one-sided.

The second part of the globally popular stop-motion animated series Pokémon Concierge, consisting of four new episodes, is now streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix. The initial run of four episodes were released worldwide on Netflix on December 28th, 2023. New episodes were first teased during December 2024, and formally announced during the Pokémon Day Pokémon Presents on February 27th of this year, with the trailer and release date revealed during the July 22nd Pokémon Presents.

Pawmot is the latest Pokémon to join the fray in Pokémon UNITE. Pawmot is a Melee All-Rounder with Intermediate difficulty that deals Physical damage, and can be purchased from the in-game shop for 790 Aeos Gems. It will also be available for 13,000 Aeos Coins from next week.

Pokémon UNITE updated to Version 1.20.1.2 on 4:00am (UTC) on September 4th. This updates, dubbed "Celestial Rumble" (Japanese: 「蒼天震鳴」), bring balance adjustments for a few Pokémon and Items, alongside bug fixes and Shop and Event updates. It also prepares for Pawmot's arrival to the game, and the updated Theia Sky Ruins (Groudon) map. Additionally, Battle Pass Season 34, featuring "Fiesta Style: Armarouge" and "Fiesta Style: Scizor", is now available for purchase from September 4th, running through to October 15th.

The Theia Sky Ruins maps in Pokémon UNITE is getting a major update on Thursday, September 4th: the battlefield will receive a massive overhaul, and the legendary Pokémon Groudon will now appear in the center of the map instead of Rayquaza. Defeating Groudon will grant the entire team a powerful buff that lasts until the Pokémon is knocked out: a massive boost to goal-scoring speed, increased damage, and a shield effect. Other Pokémon will also be able to steal this effect for themselves for a short while by knocking-out an opponent with this buff. Additionally, wild Pokémon spawns have also been changed, along with changes to the tall grass areas of the map.

Pokémon UNITE has released a statement regarding a review of tournament operation policies for Pokémon UNITE events at the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. This statement acknowledges feedback received at the 2025 World Championships in Anaheim, and acknowledges the concerns raised about the smartphone device usage policies.
