The Pokémon Company International and TiMi Studio Group have announced that Pokémon’s first strategic team battle game, Pokémon UNITE, will be released in July 2021 on the Nintendo Switch systems and in September 2021 on mobile devices. Pokémon UNITE will be free-to-start, with optional in-game purchases available. Pokémon UNITE will first be available in English, Korean, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. French, Italian, Spanish, and German language support will be added later this year. Cross-platform play which will allow players from both platforms to battle together will be added. Players may use their Pokémon Trainer Club account or Nintendo Account on both versions to keep their progress synced between devices.
Niantic has reported a Bidoof Breakout is coming to Pokémon GO! Bidoof will be appearing more often in the wild, in raids, and in encounters after you complete event-exclusive Field Research tasks. The event will take place from June 25, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to July 1, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

A new online competition has been announced for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Registration for the Fair and Square competition will begin on June 2, 2021, at 10:00 p.m. PDT, and will remain open until June 17, 2021, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. The mobile version of Pokémon HOME will be receiving an update to version 1.4.0 in June 2021. A brand new feature in this update, Catch Calendar, allows you to view your Pokémon arranged by the dates on which you caught them. You can also set specific dates as Anniversaries to mark special occasions. The Pokédex will also be updated which gives the ability to view Pokémon registered to your Pokémon HOME Pokédex from different angles, similar to Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. To celebrate the release of version 1.4.0, all players can receive special Bulbasaur and Squirtle via the Mystery Gift option. When you move these two Pokémon to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, when fully evolved as Venusaur and Blastoise, can be Gigantamax during battle.

Participants who played the previous event can also still take part and claim the rewards for a second time. A Super Spotlight Poké Fair is also running alongside the event, featuring four fair-exclusive Sync Pairs.
Sheep Pokémon Wooloo and Dubwool will be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through May 23, 2021, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.
