The Pokémon Company is offering some sales data for the newly released Pokémon Pokopia, which had its worldwide release on March 5th. The company states that it sold more than 2.2 million units of Pokopia in its first four days, putting it on track to become one of the best-selling spin-off games in the Pokémon franchise.

The Pokémon Presents preview of Pokémon Pokopia has revealed some new details about the game, including some new characters and lots of new multiplayer functionality. Pokémon Pokopia is scheduled to release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, worldwide on March 5th.

The big ticket item for this Pokémon Presents was the highly anticipated Generation X announcement, which came as the finale of the 25-minute video. Pokémon Winds and Waves Versions will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, debuting simultaneously worldwide sometime in 2027. The Pokémon Presents revealed the player characters, first partner Pokémon trio, and more.

As Pokémon Day draws closer, a recent rumor circulating the internet has been confirmed. Nintendo Switch ports of the Generation III remakes Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen, have become available for preorder on the Nintendo eShop. As of writing, no formal announcement about this has been made by official sources outside of these eShop listings.

Changing market conditions strike again. On August 1st, Nintendo of America announced upcoming price changes for the original Nintendo Switch system and accessories, the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, select Amiibo, and some Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, citing rather vaguely that they are "based on market conditions". These changes have now rolled out on the Nintendo of America store as of August 3rd.

Now that the Nintendo Switch 2 has been out for a month, Play Pokémon have confirmed that players competing at the 2025 Pokémon World Championships in the VGC and UNITE divisions will be able to use the new console. The Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch - OLED Model will all remain eligible for use as well.

A press release from The Pokémon Company International has confirmed the release date of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, along with information about pre-orders and the game's cover art. The game will come to both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles worldwide on Thursday October 16th. The same press release also announced a brand new Pokémon Presents video presentation will air on the official Pokémon YouTube channel on July 22nd.

In what's sure to be happy news to many Pokémon fans, the Nintendo Direct for the Nintendo Switch 2 has confirmed that Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which releases worldwide late this year, will be a proper cross-generation title with its own Nintendo Switch 2 Edition featuring improved performance compared to the version for the original Nintendo Switch.

During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, it was announced that GameCube games would be coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2, with "clearer image quality and higher resolution." Two games revealed to be added after the console's release on June 5th are Generation 3's Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, both having been developed by Genius Sonority and released in 2003 and 2005 respectively.

In addition to all the other announcements made alongside the Nintendo Direct for Nintendo Switch 2, the Japanese official website has also revealed that select Nintendo Switch titles will be receiving free updates on Nintendo Switch 2. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were explicitly listed as a game that would be receiving one of these free updates.
