Yeah that's right. We've made it a thousand days since DP came out in Japan. And over those thousand, we've gone from discovering some of the more exciting and powerful new evolutions to old Pokémon to seeing that the event Pokémon Game Freak had hidden away from us had even more abilities than we figured at the start.
Shaymin, started as a simple "eh, another Mew" thing. And Sky Forme changed that like no other Pokémon has. Who could've foreseen that at all?
Giratina's Origin Forme as well. From the start we'd suspected that it'd be the mascot of the third game, with its similarity to Dialga and Palkia, but no one figured that that would happen.
And of course, the revelation of something we've all wanted since the end of last generation: HGSS.
Ah, what an eventful 1000 days Generation IV's had. And we don't even have the first Gen V Pokémon revealed yet. Keep in mind, though, from this point it's still 408 more days (longer than a year) until Generation IV is longer than Generation III was, counting the days of Japanese release. Which it likely will be, what with Gen V still unannounced, but at least we have an idea of what's coming, unlike what that suspenseful period during 2007 was after DP came out in the States.
So what're your opinions on how Gen IV's changed the series, and how do they differ from your opinions on the first release of the games?
