With the year coming to a close, people usually start to look back and reflect upon the things that happened to them throughout the year. Basically, this thread is for us to post a balance of the good and bad things that happened to us during 2005, starting with myself:

The Bad

  • Discovering someone I loved too much wasn't the person I thought he was.
  • Growing appart from friends, especially online ones.
  • The awful atmosphere at work some people have been causing. :/

The Good

  • Getting to know some people better. *cough* Mamoru-kun *cough*
  • Making new friends.
  • The funny moments with my coworkers.
  • My new digital camera. :P
  • That nothing bad happened to my family this year.

In retrospective, I think it has been a good year for me, despite the first bad thing listed above. Hopefully, 2006 will be much better.

The Bad:

- Fall 2005 quarter report card. OH SHI-!

The Good:

- Bulbagarden IRC chat. OMFG YEY.
- Me getting back into Pokemon. OMFG YEY.
- Me getting back into PokeShipping. OMFG YEY.
- First Encounter Assault Recon and Battlefield 2. \o/

The Good
  • I got a job with Quest Diagnostics
  • Thanks to said job, I'm going back to school to earn my degree (they pay tuition)
  • My son got straight A's and one B on his final report card for the 5th grade in June
  • My daughter got all B's and one A on her final report card for the 3rd grade in June

The Bad
  • Seeing the devastration wrought by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma
  • My mom's surgery
  • My son is in the process of going through puberty
  • I feel like I've lost touch with some friends that I don't see regularly

The Good

  1. Finally turned 17.
  2. Finally got my Driver's liscence.
  3. Got accepted into the college of my dreams.
  4. Got Academic Scholarship to said college
.

The Bad

ChaosRocket II!

Anyway. Yes.

The bad
  • Opening Bulbanews to the public... and it becoming far, far less active than I had hoped.
  • Having been assessed as only presently achieving A in Chemistry.
  • Having been within 100km of PokéPark but not having visited it.
  • Consequently, not being able to watch the 3D Pokémon mini-movie.
  • Having been able to go to Pokémon Festa but not having been aware of it.
  • Consequently, not being able to get the Old Sea Chart.
  • Doing poorly in end-of-year English exams. (They're not testing English ability, I tell you!)
  • Not managing a high percentile in SAT Japanese (770/800 = 57th%ile!?) and Physics (780/800 = 88th%ile!?)

The good
  • Opening Bulbapedia to the public... and it becoming more active than I would have imagined (but not as active as I had hoped).
  • The idea of an [wp]open content[/wp] Pokémon encyclopedia gaining some acceptance internationally: PokéWiki.
  • Managing top 1.1% in an international mathematics competition.
  • Being assessed as presently achieving A* in Biology (!) and Economics.

The Bad

- A relationship which tore apart my life and caused a lot of undue stress.
- Father had a heart attack. (But he's okay now.)
- Dog died.
- I haven't been exercising as much.

The Good

- The terrible relationship ended.
- A wonderful new one began which I'm very happy with.
- I'm holding my first solid A in Math--in Calculus, no less.
- I've become closer with my friends this year.

The Bad
-Cat died
-Realizing that I'm just not made to be a historian or history teacher.
-Had appendicities

The Good
-Weaning myself off the computer. I spend much less time on it, and much more with offline friends and family. I know this sounds bad to some of you guys, but ultimately it's a step we have to go through *shrugs*.
-Losing 20 pounds or so (as a result of the aforementioned appendicitis).
-Getting back in social activities (theater classes, fencing classes - though I had to drop the later due to the already mentioned appendicitis).;
-Realizing that while I'm NOT meant to be a historian, I definitely should look into journalism. (and BMG, specifically the Hurricane Fun, helped there)

The Bad
* The ending of a nearly three-year relationship.
* My aunt and uncle being involved in a terrible accident that left my aunt without her dominant hand and most of an eye.
* Spending far too much time on the Internet/computer.
* The times where I experienced poor health, like right now (grumble).
* Transferring my underground high school newspaper to underclassmen only to have them never update it.

The Good
* Entering a relationship with perhaps the most like-minded, good-hearted (to me at least) person I have ever met.
* Suppressing 95% of my generalized anxiety disorder by mustering up the courage to go to the doctor and get medication.
* Graduating high school and entering college.
* Rising up the ranks so quickly here at Bulbagarden.
* Being informed I am the number-one freshman on my college newspaper staff, and am in line to take over eventually.
* Making some great friends on said staff.

The Good
- Friend introduced me to someone that I kind of like now. :P
- Good weather for the most part. :P
- Can't think of much else. :P

The Bad
- Uncle Nick died.
- Didn't get a job that I tried for.
- Having my 2 aunts caught right in the middle of Hurricane Wilma and having the constant worry of not knowing if they were ok or not.
- Winter was 85ºF @_@

Yeah but...I tend to like seasonal weather. :P 85 in December doens't quite equal seasonal but...What to do when you live in Southern California. :P

The worst thing that happened to me this year was having a nervous breakdown with paranoia and panic attacks. The best thing that happened was coming out of it.
