2008 anime calendar art

I managed to get two different Japanese Pokémon calendars for 2008: the annual poster calendar (7 images) and a McDonald's promotion (13 images). Both have a lot of great anime art, much of it featuring Pokémon of the main characters'. Maybe we can get some hints for future captures and evolutions? Just don't take anything too seriously because these things are never totally accurate. At the very least we get to see some new art of some Pokémon that haven't been promoted yet.

I am sorry the picture quality on some is poor. My camera is not very good.

They're so cute! I wish I had a Pokemon calender. But I have a Harry Potter one for this year haha

Not much to say really. The artists did a really good job with the posters in particular. I like all the Christmas ones and the September-October Poster. Glad you were able to capture the images, makes me fell like getting one of those calenders.
 
Hmm, both Staraptor and Meowth with Gligar on the December page are... interesting.

Let the speculation begin! XD
 
STUNKY! Yes! I really like those calenders...I thought it was cute how the Snover and the Weavile were ice skating in the November-December picture. I smiled when I saw Giratina at the Christmas tree.
 
Wow, Glaceon looks pretty good in its anime design.

Funny how Shinx is in so many of them yet has only been in one ep of the show so far. Cool, but I suppose we can't make any predictions about the anime based on these. Ah well.

Well, the Pikachu in MPJ was confirmed male (he was always called "he") and he loved to frolic in flowers. I think he and Clefairy (also male) wore flower wreaths once as well, but I'd have to look that up.

Also, girls with tophats are adorable.
 
Guys, these posters often have random groupings of Pokemon so I really don't think anyone should look deep into them.

However, Gilgar being with Meowth really wants me to hope he becomes a Rocket.
 
Yeah, I think Gligar being with Meowth may mean it for one of them. Staraptor appearing a number of times shows that it will probably evolve, but i think everyone kinda already suspected that. People could probably make the same argument with Infernape, but as Habunake already said these things generally put in just popular pokemon. I would also say that some pokemon appear quite often, though it may be from popularity, such as Gallade,, Riolu, Cherubi/Cherrim, Chingling, and some others.

I can imagine Dawn catching a Cherubi perhaps.

I got the McDonald's one on eBay... there are a lot there for relatively cheap. The poster one was a Christmas present from my parents, and they ordered it from J-List, but it's out of stock now.

I agree. Both Gallade and Riolu are popular but can be seen with main characters, Gallade mainly if max ever shows up with Ralts. Chingling i don't know of as being extremely popular, but i have seen people equate james getting one bcause of chimecho, though i doubt it.
 
The only thing that stands out to me is the Jan-Feb. picture in front of the Contest Hall. Mismagius being present with Piplup and Prinplup might indicate that Zoey's Misdreavus may evolve as soon as her next contest, though I never personally thought it would be this soon. Again, that's stretching it, but it was something worth noting. Not touching that Altaria, however.
 
Another interesting thing to note in the Jan-Feb one is that most of the Pokemon presented (Except for Prinplup.) are in the dress-up clothing from the games. With Piplup sporting a mustache, cute. ^^ What I really don't like is the lack of Sudowoodo and Staravia only being in one picture. Even neglected Buneary got in quite a few pictures. They are very nice colorful pictures overall, though. I wish I had one of those calendars. >_>
