Hello everyone!

Finally, a month after it began, we have reached the end of the Spring Awards 2014! It has been a great Awards, with lots of submissions and nominations that I hope to see carried out in the future, and we had many wonderful new judges that provided some extra spice in terms of marking the stories and characters. We had a great range of stories that made it in this time around, and I sincerely hope that we see another broad, new range next time with more submissions!

The banners are being constructed, but I am a bit impatient and cannot wait for them (these were meant to go up 24 hours ago exactly, but the forums decided to crash and ruin all my plans -___-). So, here are your winners:

Best Journey: @Soulmaster, @kintsugi, @Lance, @LightningTopaz
Flames of a Revolutionary by @Tophat Dragoneye

Best Expansion: @LightningTopaz, @Pavell, @PokePal15
Striking Back: Memoirs of a Clone by @Dai

Best Dark: @Caitlin @Silverwynde @Scholar
some rise by sin by @kintsugi

Best Non Pokemon/Crossover: harryeart @Pokemaster97
Psychic Duelist Django Spirit by @CynthiaLover

Best Alternate: @AceTrainer14 @Flaze @Legacy
Storm Island by @Caitlin and @AC-Prescott

Best Protagonist
The Unnamed Protagonist of some rise by sin by @kintsugi

Best Antagonist
Buzz Bolton from How to Conquer Kanto in Eight Easy Steps by @AceTrainer14

Best Supporting Character - TIE
Evelina Joy from The Long Walk by @Pavell
Sandy Samson from How to Conquer Kanto in Eight Easy Steps by @AceTrainer14

Best Pokemon Character
Icarus from some rise by sin by @kintsugi

Best Newcomer: @GastlyGibus

Best Reviewer: @Flaze

Best Written Word Contributor: @Pavell

And now, the big ones...

Best Character:
The Unnamed Protagonist of some rise by sin by @kintsugi

Best Story:

Congratulations to all the winners, especially our two big stars! I had a lot of pleasure reading a great range of stories this time round, and there are now a few more for me to be looking out for in the future!

A big hand to our great judging team, who did a fantastic job and deserve a big cyber round of applause! Their job is not fully done yet, as they need to provide their feedback (preferably posting in thread), so please give the team a week before harassing them demanding their post your feedback! For those whose characters went on without stories, click the spoiler to see who you will need to bother:
Zoey: Me and Flaze
Graves: Me and kintsugi
Keith: Pavell and Flaze

Now, it is time for a little Awards break until next time! The tally chart will be updated once the banners are done. Look out for several announcements and changes before the month is over, including some Awards news, as well as the banners and the Fic of the Month interview for Striking Back!

Thanks to everyone for reading and writing, and here's hoping the next Awards will be bigger than ever!

Great job, everyone! All the stories were fun to read!

A tie! A tie, of all things! I think that is a first for the Awards. I would like to thank whoever write DP028 for getting me thinking in the first place. And everyone who thinks that I'm worth listening to in The Written Word, come to that.

Striking Back
really is a great piece of work, well worth the read

@Pavell; your speech is going too long :p
@AetherX; I would read it if the chapters weren´t so long and I wasn´t so busy xD

Anyways a big round of applause to everyone that participated in this award season, I hope to see you all back next season hopefully. Also for those that didn´t manage to win well, it´s not cause your stories are bad there were actually a lot of good and interesting stories this time around.

Anyways for those that expect a review from me you should be getting one today, but that´s not all. A lot of the fics that appeared these awards are fics that I´ve read before so throughout the week I will be doing an award-like review of all the fics that I´ve read that participated in the awards. So wait for that ;p

I graciously and humbly accept this award. Truth be told, I'm also quite surprised, as I didn't expect to get past the first round, let alone make it this far. I really owe this to AceTrainer14, as he recommended that I submit my story in the first place. I would've ignored (or, more likely, not realized) what this whole thing was until he asked. So thank you. And great work to all of you who received such an honor. As well as a round of applause for the other writers that submitted their works, as they all did a great job. Kudos to all of you.

Okay, true facts, I didn't nominate any of my stuff this year because I didn't think I was going to win/I really wanted to judge everything, and then apparently @Flaze; went through and nominated me in literally everything without telling me until later. You guys flatter me far too much.
._.
/other emoticons to express surprise

In other news, have shitty internet and no sleep right now; you guys can expect your reviews within a week of Ace's post, I guess?

Not to take away Flaze's credit @kintsugi, but your characters nominations came from other people; clearly, a lot of people wanted to see you succeed ;)

And Aether is right; you should always try and nominate your work, even if you think it won't get in. You never know who else your possibly going to be up against, and considering your only facing around two/three other fics, there is a HUGE chance you can win - even if you don', you still get detailed feedback :)

I know what you mean, Midori. It is a bit intimidating entering the Awards - yes it is, Ace - but I do believe that the more people enter, the better. New stories make the Awards more worthwhile than if the same stories won again and again. If I'm right though, there have been quite a few first time winners this time round - off the top of my head Storm Island is one, Psychic Duellist Django Spirit another ... I'm pretty sure it's the second Awards for some rise by sin as well

@AceTrainer14; I don't quite understand. What do I need to bug you and Flaze about? I'm totally down with bugging people, but I like having a reason that I understand.

@Peaceful Giraffe; You bug us a week after the first post in this thread if we have not given you feedback on Zoey. However, I have already posted mine so you shan't need to worry.
@Pavell; I am aware it can be intimidating; I myself always feel a little bit of dread when I submit Galactic as I know it will probably get torn to shreds. I merely encourage everyone to give it a go when they feel they are ready, as you never know what may come out of it.
