Congratulations to everyone whose work has moved on! It is all well deserved and I look forward to judging some new categories and new pieces of work! The judging round begins in a few days while we sort out the assignment of categories and such, but with the inclusion of several new members, we are all looking forward to the next month of reading.

While we judges get to work, the rest of you can take part by voting in the User Voted categories! These three awards celebrate the users directly and reward them for their work around the Fairground and Written Word. Over the next few weeks, you can vote for one user from each category, and whoever has the most votes in the end wins!
Your nominees are:
Best Reviewer: @Beth Pavell @Rediamond @Flaze @AetherX
Best Newcomer: @Airt @VTP-Dawkins93 @Sike Saner @FullMoon
Best Contributor to the Written Word: @LightningTopaz @AceTrainer14 @Rediamond @Beth Pavell @Andrea Prescott
I will let you know after Christmas when voting on this will close. You can change your vote at any time as I will not count them up until the competition closes.

Good luck to everyone nominated, and will see you in the New Year with the winners!

(BTW, doing mentions takes ages. They really need a button for this -_-)

All of those people who have moved on, you now have the option to submit your recommend chapters. For those not in the know, these chapters help the judges with reading the longer stories on offer. The judges will read the first few and most recent chapters, but they cannot possibly read every chapter as they are volunteers, so your chapter submissions will help make it easier for us to read your work. In order to submit, simply PM me the links to your chosen chapters

- Please submit no more than four chapters if these chapters are of a reasonable length, and no more than two if your chapters exceed over 20,000 words (use your own common sense here, but you will not win any favours with the judges if you submit four overly long chapters. Just be smart about it, submit what your feel is necessary.)

- You do not need to submit any chapters if your story is a one shot, consists only one chapter or has a small amount of chapters of a reasonable length (for example, would not need any due to its length).

- You do not need to submit your first chapter/prologue or your latest/last chapter as judges should read these. Unlike last time though I will not chase you up over them so you will ned to use your own merits and decide on the other stories.

- Please message these to me within the next three days, even if the chapters are the same as last time. Chapters not in within three days will risk judging beginning and being done without them.

- If you have characters only, can you please point out if there are any chapters without the character as well?

A point of advice for choosing your chapters: find the ones that best convey the things that make your story shine. If you excel at plot, character or style the most, try your best to highlight those areas with the work you select. Try your best to find the chapters that will make the judges want to read more, to learn more about your story and why it deserves an award. It may seem a given, but you will be surprised by what some people submit.

Please note that this time, if you do not submit recommend chapters and win your category, your story cannot be taken into consideration for Best Story. We had difficulty with this last time when one story did not have recommended chapters, making it hard for the judges outside of that category to make a call. It is easier for a small group judging just one category to read over another story, but asking a dozen or so people to read one story in a few days is asking far too much.

You can vote for Best Newcomer, just not yourself, obviously.

I haven't actually READ any reviews (and barely of the fics), so I'll skip that part. Feels kinda weird trying to vote for anything since I'm still getting used to the site and people here =)

Now that I have sorted out the banners, it is probably time we wrap this part of the Awards up. So I will set the end date for Monday at about 9M my time, meaning that you have three days and nine hours to get your votes in!

Best Reviewer: @Flaze - is reliably prompt and gets to most everyone's fics, also offers a good balance of negative+positive criticism
Best Newcomer: @Sike Saner - if she posted more, that'd be great (she's hilarious)
Best Contributor to the Written Word: @AceTrainer14 - he pretty much sets everything up, so why not

I don't know how much this will change things but here are my votes.

Best Reviewer: AetherX
Best Newcomer: Sike Sanner
Best Contributor: I don't pay enough attention here so I'll leave it to the more informed.
