2015 in Music

I thought it'd be cool to have a general topic for 2015 releases in music! If you know me even a little, you'll know how much I love music.

Has anyone heard any 2015 albums? Are you digging any new songs already? What are you highly anticipating?

I've only heard one album so far, Panda Bear's Meets The Grim Reaper, which I actually bought on Sunday. Really cool, weird psychedelic pop album. I'm quite a fan of him and his work in Animal Collective, and I think it's a great start to the year. Will it make my top 10 for 2015? Who knows!

Every few months Marina & The Diamonds has been releasing tracks off her upcoming album Froot, and considering I adore her work I'm utterly ecstatic. So without a doubt this album is one I'm eagerly waiting for.

My favorite track off the album so far is Froot, and knowing how I am I bet once the album drops I'll be listening to it non-stop.

Still hyped for Steam Powered Giraffe's Vice Quadrant that is supposed to come out this year. They only got one song from the album out, but they're not the type to show off much of their music until the album is either released or almost released.

So after listening to some of the tracks I am officially excited fooooor... the soundtrack for Fifty Shades of Grey.

I have no interest in the movie whatsoever, but damn the songs I've heard so far are really good! My favorite track right now is the remix of Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love"--I feel pretty meh about the original song, but I completely fell in love with this new version. Here's to hoping the rest of the album is just as good!

Been really liking Jeff Bridges' ambient album that he released for free. It's kind of like an audio diary, positive encouragement, relaxation album. Really cool. If you do purchase it, the proceeds go to charity, which is very admirable.

Just waiting for Smoke + Mirrors from Imagine Dragons to come out. Getting it day 1.

I haven't listened to much 2015 albums, but so far I love Meghan Trainor's fully released album, Title.

I'm quite looking forward to the MisterWives' first album, Our Own House. I've liked all of their songs so far, and am really excited to hear more.

I'm holding out for Death Grips' new double album--apparently it's slated to come out sometime this year, though they've been withholding a lot of information from us on the matter.

Just waiting for Smoke + Mirrors from Imagine Dragons to come out. Getting it day 1.

They Might Be Giants are also apparently putting out an album this year. I'll have to hear how it sounds...
