2027 Pokemon Championship Series.webp
In preparation for the 2026 Pokémon World Championships taking place next month, Play! Pokémon have shared a variety of details regarding the upcoming 2027 Championship Series, including updates to Championship Points and Worlds Invites, and a host of online and offline events.

Regional, Special, and International Championships
The 2027 Championship Series currently includes 5 Regional-level events in North America, 9 Regional-level events in Europe, 9 Regional-level events in Latin America, and 4 Regional-level events in Oceania. Further events are likely to be announced in the future.

Additionally, beginning with the 2027 Championship Series, competitors under the age of 12 will not be able to compete at events held in Germany, and competitors under the age of 14 will not be able to compete at events held in Brazil, due to Pokémon Champions receiving higher age classifications in these countries. Play! Pokémon have announced that they are "actively exploring potential solutions to support younger competitors in these regions."

Online Competitions
A series of Online Competitions has also been announced for Pokémon Champions, beginning with the 2027 Global Challenge I from 24 September 2026 at 20:00 UTC.

September 2026: Global Challenge
October 2026: Global Challenge
December 2026: Global Challenge
January 2027: Global Challenge
March 2027: Global Challenge
April 2027: Grand Challenge*

*Although the official website lists the April 2027 Online Competition as a Grand Challenge, it also states that "no Grand Challenges are currently scheduled for the 2027 season," so this may be a typo.

Championship Points
The amount of Championship Points rewarded to players has been slightly updated, with the goal of rewarding "more Championship Points for lower-finishing competitors."

Regionals and Special Championships:
Top 512:
40 → 45
Top 1024: 20 → 22

International Championships:
Top 512:
80 → 85
Top 1024: 40 → 42

2027 World Championships Invitations
The most reliable method to receive an invite to the 2027 Pokémon World Championships is to accrue a large amount of Championship Points. The players with the most Championship Points in certain rating zones will receive invites to the World Championships each year—and in the 2027 Championship Series, the requirements have been slightly adjusted to allow more players to receive invites.

US & Canada: Top 80 → Top 90
Europe: Top 80 → Top 90
Latin America: 60
Oceania: 20
Middle East & South Africa: 5
