In the latest message to players of Pokémon Masters EX from producers Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, a range of events and updates coming to the game in advance of the two-year anniversary at the end of August have been announced.

Updates for Late July and Early August

Conclusion of the PML Story Arc
The PML Arc of the Main Story, which began with the original launch of Pokémon Masters back on August 29, 2019, will be coming to an end on July 29, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. PDT, with the final round of the PML tournament.
A new story arc is currently in development, with more information scheduled to be released in the next update from the producers at the end of August. If you've not yet completed the story, this is a great time to bring yourself up-to-date before that new arc comes out.

Lear Takes the Lead: New Solo Event
The new solo event featuring Lear will begin on July 29, 2021. As part of this event, Lear, Rachel, and Sawyer will all make their debut as playable Sync Pairs, appearing together in the Sync Pair Scout. ☆ levels for these new sync pairs have not been explicitly stated, however it seems reasonable to assume they will be 5☆.

Lear & Hoopa have three passive skills that can each reduce the sync move countdown. Specifically, the skills respectively reduce sync move countdown when they enter a battle, have a chance of reducing the sync move countdown when a move is successful, and reduce the sync move countdown the first time Lear & Hoopa use their sync move. Their sync move, Singularity Hyperspace Hole, increases in power when the target doesn't have any stats raised. This combos with their Snatch move, which raises their own stats while returning a targeted Pokémon's stats to normal.

Rachel & Umbreon are a support sync pair focused on healing. Of particular note is their move, Helloooo!, which restores one ally’s HP by roughly approximately 60%, removes status conditions and interference inflicted on that ally, grants them the Enduring effect, and grants them the Gradual Healing effect if the ally has a sync buff.

Sawyer & Honchkrow are a support sync pair focused on buffing the team's offensive and defensive strength. Their passive skills include one with a chance to raise all allies’ Defense when attacking, and a second which has a chance to raise all allies’ Sp. Def when attacking. Their move, Forever Loyal! also raises all allies’ Attack and Sp. Atk by two stat ranks, raises their Defense and Sp. Def by one stat rank, and applies the Move Gauge Acceleration effect to the allied field of play.

Triple Feature Poké Fair Scout
5☆ Sygna Suit Red & Charizard, 5☆ Sygna Suit Blue & Blastoise, and 5☆ Sygna Suit Leaf & Venusaur will all return for a special sync pair scout in late July. The scout is available to players for 72 hours from when they first log-in after the app update for July has been released. It's not clear from the announcement how long this scout will remain available to be redeemed for people who might not be logging in for an extended period, but to be safe it's best to log-in and get this early if it's something you're interested in.

Evelyn & Entei and Falkner & Swellow make their debut
Evelyn, one of the four leaders of the Battle Maison in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, will be joining the game as a Fire-type master sync pair with Entei. They will be available via the BP Sync Pair Super Voucher exchange items menu. The announcement does not specify an exact date for this, but from context players can most likely expect to see this within the next few weeks. No details have been on the sync pair's moves and passive skills.

Falkner, the Gym Leader of Violet City, will make his debut in the sync pair scout with his partner Swellow on August 4, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. This sync pair has a set of 3 passive skills which punish opponents for missing their attacks, charging the move gauge, raising allies' speed and having a chance to restore HP whenever an opponent's strike fails to land. These skills all combo with their move Fly, which will cause most moves aimed at them to miss.

New Daily Event - Type Team-Up
From August 4, 2021 at 11:00 p.m., players will be able to challenge a new kind of event, Daily Type Rotation: Type Team-Up.

In this event, players can challenge sync pairs in battles such as Challenge the Flying Types, Challenge the Rock Types, and Challenge the Water Types. Challenges for all 18 types will be available, with featured types rotating on a daily basis. By completing each battle, players can earn gems and items used for training, including tomes and codices for each type. Special conversations with sync pairs will also be available in the Pokémon Center whenever new battles are added.

Additional rewards for Master Mode
From August 8, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. (after the Champion Stadium switches regions), Battle Points will be added as additional rewards for players for Master Mode.

Run-Up to Two Years Celebration

The Run-Up to Two Years Celebration will begin on August 11, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. The celebration begins with a new Legendary Event: Howling Shield of Eternity - featuring new sync pair Hop & Zamazenta. More information about this event will be forthcoming once the event launches. This celebration will also see the debut of Max Moves and Dynamax, with the first sync pair with Max Moves promised to be debuting in August (presumably the aforementioned Hop & Zamazenta).

Additionally, a Two-Year Run-Up Special Rally will run as part of the celebration starting August 18, 2021 at 11:00 p.m., bringing with it a special rally with special log-in bonuses, missions, and new and returning legendary events and arenas, which we've summarized below. A special bonus is also planned for players as part of the launch of this event, however no specifics about what this surprise might entail were given, only that players should log-in at the event start time for it.
  • Three Legendary Events Return - New World Dilemma, Give and Take, and Father or Foe will all return and run simultaneously
  • A special log-in bonus of 400 Stamina per day for up to 9 days
  • Special Missions, with a variety of rewards including 5☆-Guaranteed Scout Tickets
  • Blissful Bonanza - Players will have the opportunity to collect items to exchange for 5☆-Guaranteed Scout Tickets, Lucky Scrolls, Lucky Cookies, and a variety of other rewards
  • Legendary Arena: Cresselia - Starting one day into the rally on August 19 at 11:00 p.m., Cresselia will make its comeback to the Legendary Arena.
Updates for Later August
Several additional updates have also been announced as coming to the game in late August.
  • Daily log-in bonus update
  • Zero stamina consumption for the Evolution Material Area and Sync Orb Area
Additional events and promotions in celebration of the two-year anniversary are expected with the next message from the producers at the end of August, along with more information about the upcoming new story arc.
