Pokémon Battle Festival Asia 2021 announced; event to run from November 26, 2021 to February 13, 2022 across 9 Asian countries

ESL SEA Pte. Ltd. and Pokémon Asia have announced the Pokémon Battle Festival Asia 2021, the very first event in Asia featuring tournaments, exhibition matches, and special shows across multiple Pokémon titles. The event will include tournaments for games including Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE and the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Each tournament will feature players from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. The festival will be held on weekends from November 26, 2021 to February 13, 2022.

Tournaments for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Trading Card Game, and Pokémon GO will take place online, with players able to compete from the comfort of their own homes. Players will need to qualify on a national level in order to make it to the regional stage, where they will compete against the best players in the Asia region. In addition to the tournaments, a variety of programs have been planned to keep viewers captured in the world of Pokémon. These programs include celebrity showmatches, fun segments and special events, where famous celebrities and influencers from multiple regions will show off their skills and passion for their beloved games. All of the action will be broadcasted live to allow interaction with the viewers.

  • 4th: Pokémon GO Qualifier - Top 16 (TW/HK)
  • 5th: Pokémon GO Qualifier - Top 16 (ID/TH)
  • 10th: Pokémon TCG Tournament: Malaysia Qualifier
  • 11th: Pokémon TCG Tournament: Malaysia Qualifier / Pokémon GO Tournament: KOL Showmatch (BROADCAST)
  • 12th: Pokémon TCG Tournament: Malaysia Qualifier
  • 17th: Pokémon TCG Tournament: Thailand Qualifier
  • 18th: Pokémon TCG Tournament: Thailand Qualifier
  • 19th: Pokémon TCG Tournament: Thailand Qualifier
January 2022
  • 2nd: Pokémon GO Tournament: Regional Playoffs (BROADCAST)
