Final evolutions of the Kanto region's First Partner Pokémon to appear in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Shield

The Gigantamax forms of the final evolutions of the First Partner Pokémon of the Kanto region, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, will be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through February 27, 2022, at 3:59 p.m. PST. Trainers will receive Max Mushrooms when they defeat or capture the Pokémon. This event is to celebrate Pokémon Day 2022, the 26th anniversary of the release of Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Green Version in Japan.

To encounter these Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle, you'll need to connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet through the Y-Comm or by selecting Mystery Gift in the X menu, then selecting Get the Wild Area News. After that, whenever you see a pillar of light shining from a Pokémon Den in the Wild Area, you can walk up to the Pokémon Den and interact with it to start a Max Raid Battle. This event does not affect the Pokémon encountered within Dynamax Adventures.
