As the heat of summer rages on, the second part of the Villain Arc's Hoenn Chapter has now arrived in Pokémon Masters EX. Running in conjunction with this main story content is a new Villain Event, Team Aqua's Stormy Seas. The Poké Fair Scout for Sygna Suit Steven & Deoxys that was announced at the beginning of this week is also now available. Additionally, details have been released on some of the updates that will be implemented in the upcoming Version 2.24.0.

Hoenn Chapter of the Villain Arc concludes
This chapter of the Villain Arc has now entered its final phase. This chapter follows Hoenn's Main Characters as try to put a stop to Kyogre and Groudon, and Steven and Zinnia as they team up to try to stop a Meteor from hitting Pasio. In this second part, Courtney and Matt, under the influence of Groudon and Kyogre respectively, both lose control and go on a rampage throughout Pasio. Steven meanwhile discovers Deoxys during his investigations of what is causing the Legendary Pokémon of Hoenn to act in this way.

Both parts of the Hoenn Chapter are a permanent addition to the main story. Players will need to have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player in order to unlock this and other chapters of the Main Story Villain Arc.

Villain Event: Team Aqua's Stormy Seas

This time-limited event is running as an accompaniment to the launch of the second part of the Hoenn Chapter of the Villain Arc. Team Aqua's Stormy Seas will run until August 27th, at 10:59pm (PT).

Unlike regular Story Events, this Villain Event does not include any lineup bonuses to increase battle rewards. There are however special bonuses for Hoenn Sync Pairs, who will have increased Attack, Defense, Special Attack and Special Defence when used in missions for this event, giving them an easier time in completing stages.

By completing battles during this event, players can earn Event Voucher Q items, which can be exchanged for a variety of valuable items, including 5★-Guaranteed Scout Tickets. Players can also obtain Event Medals, Move Candy Coins, and Gems for completing special missions during the event.

Additionally, players can also earn Rayquaza Crystals during this event, which can be exchanged for items to give Zinnia & Rayquaza a power boost, allowing it to Mega Evolve after using its Sync Move. After Mega Evolving, Rayquaza's stats are raised, it gains Fresh Start and Move Gauge Refresh 2 Passive Skills, and its Aerial Ace move changes to Dragon Ascent. Players who have not yet teamed up with Zinnia & Rayquaza will need to first complete Zinnia & Rayquaza's story in Legendary Adventures, The Dragon That Rules the Sky, to be able to acquire this power boost.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 11:00pm (PT).
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
  • Leftover Event Voucher Q and Rayquaza Crystal items will be automatically converted to coins at a rate of 10 coins per item at the end of the event, and sent to players' Present Boxes.

Synga Suit Steven & Deoxys Scout

As previously announced, Sygna Suit Steven & Deoxys are making their Pokémon Masters EX debut in a limited-time Poké Fair Scout. This new sync pair has an expanded sync grid, and the ability to be raised to 6★ EX. Raising the Sync Pair to 6★ EX will unlock Song Key 03013, which allows "Decisive Battle! (Steven) (Pokémon Masters EX Version)" to be played in the Jukebox, as well as increasing the pair's stats, and giving Steven a stylized Silver and Blue outfit.

Sygna Suit Steven & Deoxys are a Fair-Exclusive Psychic-type Tech sync pair. Deoxys starts the battle in Normal Forme. After using a Trainer Move, its Moves, Stats, and Passive Skills change and (with the exception of Try This!) Deoxys changes forme. Its Sync Move and Theme Skills do not change between formes. More information on how each of these forms work can be found on Bulbapedia.

This Scout will be available until August 27th, at 10:59pm (PT).
