Version 1.1.0 update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet coming tomorrow - patch notes offer apology for ongoing issues with the games' performance

Nintendo has announced that tomorrow, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be receiving a software update to Version 1.1.0. This update will see the start of Ranked Battles Season 1, as well as fixes to a bug where in-game music was not playing during battles against the Elite Four and the Champion.

The patch notes also acknowledge the performance issues with the new titles that have been widely reported on. While offering an apology and stating that improvements are being worked on, no timeframe has been given for when players can expect graphical and gameplay bugs to be resolved.



Follow these steps to download the latest update:
  1. Connect the Nintendo Switch console to the internet.
  2. From the HOME Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.
  3. Press the + or - Button on your controller, then select Software Update followed by Via the Internet.
  4. Once the update is installed, the newest version number will be displayed on the title screen.

Ver. 1.1.0 (Releasing December 1, 2022)
  • Season 1 of Ranked Battles will kick off, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.
    • Please check the in-game notice for more details about Ranked Battles Season 1.
  • An issue has been fixed that caused the music to not play correctly during the battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.
  • Other select bug fixes have been made.
