Niantic releases schedule of Pokémon GO events in February - Mega Gardevoir, Shiny Frillish, and Shiny Tapu Lele to debut in Valentine's Day event

Niantic has announced details on upcoming events and activities in Pokémon GO across February, with an infographic posted to their social media accounts. While several of the items included in this infographic were previously announced during January, freshly announced today are two Valentine's themed events, the first of which will be starting in-game on February 8th at 10:00am. This event will feature the Pokémon GO debuts of Mega Gardevoir, Shiny Frillish, and Shiny Tapu Lele.

Valentine's Day Event
The Valentine's Day event will begin at 10:00am local time on February 8th, and will run through to 8:00pm local time on February 14th.

Event Bonuses and Activities

• 2× Stardust from opening gifts
• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for two hours
• Increase chance for Frillish hatched from 7km Eggs to be Shiny
• Kirlia that are evolved into Gardevoir or Gallade during the event, as well as Gardevoir and Gallade that are encountered after raids, will know the Charged Attack Synchronoise. This move has 80 power in Trainer Battles, and 80 power in Gyms and in Raids.

Timed Research: Lovely WIshes
Branching Timed Research will be available during this event, allowing Trainers to choose one of three different paths, each offering different tasks and bonuses. The three paths respectively offer bonus XP or extra candy for catching Pokémon, or increases the duration of Daily Adventure Incense. Trainers who complete their selected research path will receive a selection of bonus items, as well as have the opportunity to encounter Frillish.

Global Valentine's Challenge
Between 12:00pm (PST) on February 7th (coinciding with the first timezone to start the Valentine's Day event) and 10:00pm (PST) on February 14th (coinciding with the final timezone to finish the Valentine's Day event), a special Global Valentine's Challenge will be taking place, which will see Trainers around the world work together to send a total of 100 million Gifts to friends. Trainers will be able to unlock the following bonuses once enough gifts have been sent:

• 3× Transfer Candy for the remainder of the Global Challenge period
• 2× Transfer Candy XL for the remainder of the Global Challenge period for Trainers who are at least level 31

Furfrou Form Change
For the duration of the Valentine's Day event, Furfrou can be changed from its Natural Form Furfrou to Heart Trim Furfrou with 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.

Stickers
Trainers will be able to receive event-themed stickers during this event by spinning PokéStops and opening Gifts, These stickers will also be able for Trainers to purchase directly from the in-game shop.

The following new avatar items will be available to purchase in the in-game shop starting from this event:
