The Pokémon Company International announces special collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum

A Van Gogh artwork reimagined with Sunflora
While The Pokémon Company International has kept the details sparse, a new promo on The Official Pokémon YouTube channel has given fans their first look at an upcoming collaboration between Pokémon and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The video shows Pikachu and Eevee frolicking through the Dutch countryside surrounded by Vincent Van Gogh’s quintessential sunflowers - which then turn into Sunfloras.

The collaboration, whatever it may be, will arrive on September 28th, and will likely be familiar territory for the Van Gogh Museum. The museum has previously worked with a wide range of other toy and collectibles brands, including BE@RBRICK, Monopoly, and fellow Dutch icon, Miffy. They’ve also collaborated on apparel with MUD Jeans and Vans, among others. Only time will tell what this partnership will bring. Our only certainty at this point is that it will feature Sunflora in some way, given the reimagining of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers revealed at the end of the video, but it's not clear if this will be the focal Pokémon for the collaboration, or if we'll see other Van Gogh artworks being reimagined with other Pokémon as well.
