Pokémon's Project VOLTAGE Hatsune Miku collaboration continues, with Mitchie M's Mirai donna darou releasing this Friday at 6:30pm JST

Mirai donna darou (ミライどんなだろう ) by Mitchie M - Key art
Project VOLTAGE, the special art and music collaboration project between Pokémon and the popular Volcaloid character Hatsune Miku, will soon be releasing the third of 18 music videos, with Vocaloid producer Mitchie M's Mirai donna darou (ミライどんなだろう). An obvious pun reference to Miraidon, this song's title translates in English as I wonder what the future will be like. The music video for the song will premiere this Friday, October 13th, at 6:30pm (JST) / 9:30am UTC / 2:30am (PDT).

Mitchie M, also known as Tucada, is a producer known for his careful tuning of Hatsune Miku to produce highly realistic sounding vocal effects. After debuting with the song Cosmic Tomorrow in July 2011, his song FREELY TOMORROW, released on Nico Nico Douga later that same month, was at the time the fastest Vocaloid song to reach the 100 thousand views and 1 million views milestones. In 2020, Mitchie M was given responsibility for creating the theme song for Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage!, a rhythm game for iOS and Android developed by Colorful Palette and published by Sega. His music also features in Vocaloid-based rhythm games from the Project DIVA and Project Mirai series.

Partial list of Project VOLTAGE producers
Apart from the common theme of "Pokémon featuring Hatsune Miku", and the requirement that the songs sample the background music and sound effects of the Pokémon games in some way, each of the producers for the Songs and Music Videos sub-project have been given free reign to express their own creative vision. A partial list of participating Vocaloid Producers for this sub-project was released two weeks ago alongside the launch of the music video for Volt Tackle feat. Hatsune Miku, with the final song from that set, by Pinocchio-P (ピノキオピー), scheduled to release on October 20th. The remaining songs will be released on the YouTube channels of each individual Vocaloid Producer over the coming months. While no complete schedule has yet been released as of writing, it is expected the project will continue through until at least the end of this year.

Project VOLTAGE's first sub-project, "18 Types of Hatsune Miku and Partner Pokémon Illustrations and Settings" (18タイプの初音ミク&相棒ポケモンのイラスト・設定資料) featured a set of 18 artworks from 6 separate artists based on the theme of "What if Hatsune Miku was an XX-type Pokémon Trainer". This project completed on September 28th, with the posting of the Dragon-type Hatsune Miku with her partner Pokémon Miraidon. This and the other 17 illustrations from this sub-project can be found catalogued on Bulbapedia.
