2nd 3rdd 4th generation versions of rattata and pidgey

gen 1-rattata, pidgey
gen 2-sentret, hoothoot
gen 3-poochyena or zigzagoon, none for pidgey
gen 4-bidoof, starly

what are your thoughts? I think gen 3 is odd because there are 2 options for rattata and none for pidgey.

which gen is taillow? when I checked bulbapedia zigzagoon came after mightyena and wurmple came after linoone, and I thought the rattata and pidgey versions were the first two evolutionary lines to come after the starter evolutionary lines. actually I don't know why I forgot about taillow also I just remembered murcrow
