What if there was a software downloaded from the Wii U eShop that can play your 3DS on your TV, kinda like the Gameboy Player for the GameCube?

When you launch this hypothetical software, it'll ask you to connect to a 3DS. You turn your 3DS on and select "Download Play". Once the 3DS connects to the Wii U, it shows the 3DS Player logo on the 3DS screens and you get the message on the Wii U: "Your 3DS is now hooked up to your Wii U". After pressing A on the GamePad, your 3DS reboots and you go back to the 3DS menu. But this time, the 3DS menu is on the Wii U while the 3DS is still stuck on the 3DS Player screen. After that, you can play whatever's on your DS on your TV while using the GamePad for the controller and touchscreen.

Wouldn't that be cool?

So essentially playing your 3DS games on the big screen? I think it's a cool idea if you're home. Though I imagine trying to incorporate dual screens would be difficult?

I know they had a port for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time for the Wii but that was done poorly in my opinion.

Well for the dual screens, the top screen would be on the Tv and the touch screen is on the gamepad.

Actually now that you mention it, it sounds like a great idea. xD

So you're saying I could have a fully 3D Pokemon game, on my television, in glorious, glorious HD?! Send this shit to Nintendo right now, mate.

Depending on how big your TV is, that "top" screen is gonna be so stretched out. @__@;;

I guess they can do it similar to how they have DS games on the Wii U, where you can have both 3DS screens on the GamePad. (And there was another configuration but I can't remember it.)

I dunno, I know the screen is small but I think personally I'd still play on my 3DS. Interesting idea, though.

It wouldn't turn Pokémon X and Y into a Wii U game. So I don't know about the HD. But I guess if your TV has smaller pixels, it does make the picture look better. As for sending the idea to Nintendo, the last time I sent an idea to Nintendo, I wrote a six-month long letter to Nintendo asking them to make "Pokémon Rainbow and Platinum Versions" which are remakes of Gold and Silver for GBA. However, while they appreciated the idea, they said they don't accept fan ideas. However, we eventually got Platinum and the remakes HeartGold and SoulSilver, so I guess I can be credited to indirectly creating half of Generation IV. But back on topic, if you want X and Y with Wii U graphics, they might need to release a Kalos game on the Wii U.

While I appreciate the thought of playing Fire Emblem Awakening on the big screen, I can't help but think that there would be noticeable lag as the game which is already playing on your 3DS is being streamed to your television. Also, what would you do with the 3DS?

The whole idea that you could just upload your collection to your Wii U in some sort of library, or somehow being able to buy 3DS games on the Wii U is quite farfetched. Why would a company like Nintendo give up such possibility for profit?

Your idea is fantastic. It's the basic principle of convergence. Unfortunately, I just don't see it being something we ever get, until years down the road when classic titles are released in a virtual console fashion.
