CN will be airing the first 3 episodes of DP on April 20th!

According to Pokemon.com

That's good to know. I was going to wait to see them all together if they aired one a week anyway.

It says a sneak peak is going to air, but where does it say three episodes?

I just wish they had a preview of the voices though...:)

I can't wait...

Well, the pictures they show with the article include on from DP 2, and one from DP 3.

I think it would be pretty cool if we got the three D/P episodes together like Japan got it. Seeing them one at a time would seem a bit odd, since the first ep is basically ALL Hikari and we only get a tiny bit of Ash at the end.

Dawn. Not Hikari.

Anyway, I hope Dawn has a good voice. I'm worried about Dawn and Paul.

Woah!!

We're getting all 3 episodes on the same day?

That sounds interesting!!!! ^_^

But wait, if that's gonna be the first 3 D/P episodes, and since Dogasu said the first 5 episodes of D/P are part of season 9......

Dang, I'm confused. O.O

Was the episode "Home Is Where The Start Is" considered to be a D/P episode, since it has Electivire in it?

If so, then there should be four episodes left.

And after these 3 D/P episodes air, then that means there's still one episode left of season 9? Is that right?

I'm so confused here. @_@

Just put two and two together Lisa. Or in this case, forty-seven and five.

I would have preferred that the sneak peak episode would be Following a Maiden's Voyage, but as Scott indicated before, Ash hardly appears in this episode at all, so I guess it wouldn't make sense. Hopefully though, we'll get the last five episodes of this season before summer kicks in.

No, it wasn't.

These three were aired in Japan the same day, and continue right off each other. They're a mini-arc which introduces us to Dawn and Paul.

Then we have two more DP episodes left, which probably will air the following weeks...then a long break and I'm guessing DP starts fo' realz in the fall.

EDIT:
I would have preferred that the sneak peak episode would be Following a Maiden's Voyage
It is...I mean, I doubt they'd skip the first Hikari episode.

He means what the Japanese know as Diamond and Pearl. Advanced Generation ends with "Home Is Where The Start Is".

BTW, Ash doesn't get much screentime in the first episode, and then he comes back just to have Pikachu blasted away and to be bossed around by Paul. then for the rest of the D/P series, Dawn walks in front and Ash and Brock tag along in the back like the minor characters they are. I have a feeling you're not gonna like D/P too much, Lisa.

Um...that's not true XD...

Ash does as much as he's done the other seasons, just the first bit of DP is focused on Hikari (like the first 4 episodes).

So first we find out Hikari's dub name is Dawn...

Then we learn her episodes will air ON MY BIRTHDAY...

Will someone from CN please stop spying on me and trying to creep me out? Seriously, it's like some Poke-Twilight Zone here or something...

What?

That doesn't make any sense, Shane.

Ash has to be somewhat focused on in D/P. He's the main character, for crying out loud!!

Aww......

But why is that, Habunake? :-(

Why would the writers do something like that? I mean, seeing as how when May was introduced, they made it obvious she was going to play a big part in the series - but even in her first few episodes, they still game Ash all the screentime he always gets (as the main character).

That's what I don't understand......

Why would the writers focus so much on Hikari in the first 4 episodes of D/P, and leave Ash out-in-the-cold like he's nobody and he doesn't matter to the series anymore?

I'm quite confused there.

Sure, she's a new character, but they didn't have to completely ignore Ash like that. In my opinion, what the writers should've done was this. Focus on Hikari, but still focus on Ash as well, and give him the same amount of screentime that he always gets (I guess that would be similar to what the writers did in AG).

In my opinion, that would've made a lot more sense for them to do, given the fact that Ash is still the main character of the series (or at least, he's supposed to be - my god, I sure hope the writers don't change that!!).

Anyway, I have to ask something. Was Ash in the first 4 D/P episodes at all? Even for a little bit? I don't know, cause I don't watch the Japanese version.

I really hope that he was in them, I really do.....

Because, that would be just awful if he was completely ignored, like I said a while back.

Yes.

He's at the last 4 mintues of Dp 1, but in 2 and 3 he captures a new Pokemon AND has a battle.

In DP 4, he also wins a battle against a trainer Dawn loss too.

And he also pretty much takes away from some of Dawn's Contest as well, so saying he's ignored is just dumb.

Its not that big a deal, Dawn is only heavily promoted in the first two D/P episodes. After that she eventually settles into the same female protagonist role that May had.

These early D/P eps make it seem like Dawn will be the most important female character yet, but as we go on Ash will get the same spotlight he always had and Dawn gets the same spotlight that May did.

Dawn does absolutely nothing in particular from D/P 5-8. And afterward she's only in the spotlight every 2-3 episodes, which is about the same as May had. Ash is still the more important character.
