4Kids to purchase the rights to Fist of the North Star TV

4kids announced today that they are in negotiations currently to purchase the rights to the Fist of the North Star TV series, and are also in negotiations with a cable network to air this series.

"We are planning on releasing this heart-tugging saga of a man named Ken, who is searching for his lost love Boria who was taken from him by an former friend named Sheen. He is joined by two rambunctious children named Bart and Lina during his travels, and the three of them together learn that the best way to defeat their enemies along the way is to shower everyone with hugs and puppies, which we happily provide through our wonderful paint editing studio. This will be a wonderful series, and we are going through negotiations with the Disney Channel currently to air it. This series will be geared toward children ages seven and under," says Al Kahn, president of 4kids Entertainment.

Whether this will become a reality or not will be seen in the future. If the $10mil USD that 4kids is offering does not attract Toei to sell the rights to their 1986 anime series, 4kids staff will discuss bartering their "other services" to the Japanese behemoth.

Yeah, that's the only way I see the negotiations being successful.

Sir, I'm not falling for it. I already knew it was fake. I just had to make some sort of Fist of the North Star reference.

Now I need to get back on Crunchyroll and watching it.
 
OMG! Imagine how funny this would be! They'd be able to cover the whole series in one season and they'd have to explain the fighting as verbal battles with all the implied punches. Plus there'd be many people who would "disappear to the stars forever"! It's Genius!!
 
I thought 4kids had a division for older markets? Why do they have to shove everything to seven and under?
