Re: 4Kids: "Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged is great!"

Yeah, considering everyone and their brother tries to take the slightest infringing thing OFF youtube, it's really cool to see someone praise it where it's due.

It's normally a rule for the company to alienate any type of fan works, but 4Kids must have Green Hair, and therefor have made the decision to screw said rule.

Considering 4Kids' latest report of their stock going down the toilet, maybe they're desperate enough that they'll actually try listening to fans for once.

Nice that they're actually giving credit to fan works as opposed to destroying them every chance they get.

Now if only the recent Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged episodes could actually become good again (don't kill me!)....

Is it okay if I just destroy you a little?

But yeah, I must say, it's great to see 4Kids supporting YGO Abridged instead of spazzing out and demanding it be taken off YouTube.

(Then again, they would support it now that their ship's sinking...)

Like Abridged Marik? Or are you not as indecisive about that?

I liked the series up until Episode 31 (actually at Crapsule Monsters 2), at which point I started to feel that LittleKuriboh was letting his ego take over the show. Fourth wall breaking, while one of the best things about the series before, now has become so overplayed and drawn out to the point of being annoying, and that goes for most of his jokes. Pop culture references now feel shoehorned rather than natural and LittleKuriboh is shoving his personal tastes into a series which is supposed to be about YuGiOh, not him. That's just my personal assessment of the series, though.

I dont blame them, its hilarious.

But its kinda funny, since he makes fun of them a lot.

Meh, a little. I still like it, though. He's able to come up with plenty of great jokes. But yeah, the shoehorning could use some toning down.

I saw this the other day. It's pretty awesome but, as others have already said, they're probably just doing so because at this point, the company has nothing to lose. Best to start sucking up to the fans now while they still can.

As far as the recent episodes go...there was a slump where they weren't that good and had a lot of the problems others have mentioned (too much fourth wall breaking and too many pop culture references), but those have been toned down a bit since he start updating weekly again.

The last few episodes have been pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the "Yu-Gi-Oh Drinking Game" gag, complete with counter in the bottom corner. Also, the Yu-Gi-Oh/Watchmen trailer LK put up recently was pretty awesome.

Really, though, 4Kids has been acting...not like themselves. I mean, they're releasing some raw Yu-Gi-Oh episodes. Personally, I'm a little suspicious.

To be fair, 4Kids has been praising it from the start. The jokes references and remind people of the 4Kids program, and it makes fun of the series without making fun of the property. Probably some of the best advertisement you don't have to pay for, like a fan site or something.
[edit] Wow, well maybe not. I'm sure I've heard before someone at 4Kids unofficially say that they found it funny, not counting Dan Green.

A bunch of the voice actors, I believe.

Voice actors generally seem to have a good sense of humor about things. After all, so many of these episodes have morals to them that it's nice to see someone take them and make it into something really entertaining.

Although now I wonder how 4Kids will react to the latest episode...

BTW, has Dan Green ever said anything about the series?
