Hey guys,

I need suggestions for like quick out-the-door breakfast suggestions. If it were up to me I'd have something savory every morning, but my schedule simply doesn't allow it.

I must eat breakfast though, or else my brain gets all funny. Then again, I can't eat peanut and banana sandwiches every morning >.>

Aside from the obvious - yogurt and fresh fruit - what are some good suggestions to whip up breakfast in 5 minutes or less every morning?

I usually just get yogurt and a banana or yogurt and apple slices or just... bread. I need more variety that's preferably lower in carbs (bagels are a splurge item, not really breakfast) :U

CEREAL! Do want the recipe or just the suggestion?:dumb:

Cereal isn't 5 minutes! That's like a 10 minute ordeal ;_;

And I'm lactose intolerant and lactaid is expensive :p

And whatever you can provide!

Ok! You can try:
Breakfast smoothie:
Takes about 4 minutes

3/4 cup blueberries (frozen)
1 cup soymilk (light)
2 tbsps protein powder (soy or rice)
1 banana
1 tbsp flax seed meal

Directions:
1Add frozen berries, soy milk to a blender.
2Peel banana and break up into pieces and add to blender.
3Add soy protein powder and flax meal to blender.
4Blend at high speed until smooth. Pour into glass and enjoy.
Breakfast Burrito:
a plain tortilla
2 large eggs
2 tbsps salsa
Directions:
1Scramble eggs in a nonstick frypan.
2Add salsa and beans and mix.
3Wrap in the tortilla and enjoy!

French toast:
about 6 minutes

2 slices whole grain bread
1/2 cup milk

1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tsps butter

1 pinch salt
Directions:

1Preheat griddle to just above medium heat.
2In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except bread and butter. Mix until the cornstach is disolved. Transfer mixture to a shallow bowl or pan.
3Dip both sides of each bread slice into the mixture.
4Melt butter on the griddle or skillet. Place bread on heated surface and cook each side to a light golden brown.
5Serve immediately.

Pomegranate Porridge
About 4 minutes

1 cup porridge oats
1 cup water
3/4 cup pomegranate juice

Directions:
1bring water and juice to boil.
2add oats.
3stir constantly for about 3 minutes or until creamy.
4put in serving bowl and stir in pomegranate seeds.

Sorry! These are the only quick, dairy free recipes I have. I hope this helped!

@Aestivate;
This isn't a recipe or anything, but look for belVita Breakfast when you go shopping. They're really good, with whole grains and no artifical anything. They have more than one flavor, I think.

I just put some waffles in the toaster, go do something else to get ready for the day, come back a few minutes later, boom. waffles. then put peanut butter on them and get some milk. works for me.

This was a good idea! Why didn't I just think of something so simple ;_;
