So I hear there going to possibly release a 5th gen Pokemon soon, possibly I said. So do you think its too soon? I noticed a lot of you said its way too since Ash has only three badges, look at it this way at least this way they can spead things up now. Sure it would mean getting rid of Dawn sadly but err um shorter gen than what we thought it would be. I was thinking D/P was going to be like the Jhoto saga, really long in fact longer. But if a new gen 5 comes out would they put that off?
Any who opinions on this?

WAY to early.

I don't want to leave this fandom so early... But, it was a vow. I don't want to see the fall of Pokemon franchise at my own eyes.

I think its a bit too early but the movie won't air till July so hopefully Ash will have at least one more badge

EDIT: I meant its a bit too early releasing a new 5th gen. Poké

I would hate to have 5th gen Pokémon introduced now, assuming Arceus will make its debut in the third movie. Introduce them after all of the 4th gen Pokémon have been revealed, please.

Which means I'm in the party hoping Pokémon A and B aren't new ones. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

As for how intorduced new Pokémon now would influence the anime, I don't think it would really do anything. The games surely aren't going to come out for a long time, maybe not even until the next Nintendo handheld (whatever that will be) is released.

To quote my own article...

PokeBeach said:
Ruby and Sapphire came out in Japan on November 21st, 2002. Munchlax, the first fourth generation Pokemon, was revealed on May 15th, 2004 (its silhouette, that is). So, Munchlax was revealed about eighteen months after the previous generation was released, and was featured in the second movie of that generation (Destiny Deoxys). Diamond and Pearl was released on September 28th, 2006, and it is now April 2008. Nineteen months have passed since the previous generation, and we are now on the second movie of the current generation. If the pattern continues as with Ruby and Sapphire, it is time for a new Pokemon to be revealed.

Apparentely,Pokemon A might be an alternate form of Shaymin, haven't a clue about B(Arceus, maybe,jk)

Dramatic much?

It's almost been 2 years since D/P came out in Japan, and that's what they go by. Anyone who feels it's too soon is going by the American release date, which was a little over a year ago. It's time, it'll keep coming until Nintendo is out of ideas, which won't be for awhile. Get over it.

Thank goodness, don't want Pokemon to die.

No, this is very early. Generation IV came out only a year ago. I'd say wait another two-three years.

The 5th gen is probably going to see another clean slate of the anime, which means Ash dumps his current team, Dawn/Zoey/Kenny might leave the series, and Brock could go either way.

Anyway, I suspect the D/P series will get at least 200 episodes like AG did so I don't think we have to worry about Dawn not getting enough screentime or Ash's D/P team being developed.

It's been more than a year and a half since the Japanese release.

In fact, as already mentioned, it's already been a longer amount of time (by one month) than the gap between Ruby/Sapphire's release and Gonbe being revealed. So th is timing seems right on track.

Now that I think about it, everyone is right. It IS time to reveal a Pokémon for the next gen. *tries to think of what it could be* Oh, Fwee~!

Bah. I think its too early. Judging by how long Sinnoh will be and a possible return to Johto there's no need for 5th gen yet. Even without the return to Johto there's no need. (well maybe just 1 pkmn)

If there is a 5th gen Pokemon revealed do you think it'll be captured by the main group like Munchlax was later on?

It would be pretty cool if that were the case. I'd hope Ash catches it than it would cause him to enter in another leauge maybe.

but wait! is rare a pokemon movie without a new pokemon (except new generation movie), like in movie 7 was Gonbe the 2° movie for AG like this one for DP.

it can be a baby lickitung, or a baby sneasel, the are a lot of pokemon with no baby soo big!

They put Ho-oh in the first fucking episode of the anime. How's that for too early to preview Pokemon from the next generation? There's only one movie from each generation (save the first), that doesn't have next-gen Pokemon debuting in it.
