Okay. So a quick background. This story follows Red, who we all know and love. Basically he is starting a new journey in a region away from Kanto/Johto. Hopefully this is another region we all know and love. Hint hint: A lot of people want remakes of the games that this region was based in. So thanks for reading and enjoy!

Prologue

Mt.Silver. The highest point in both Kanto and Johto (The mountain spreaded between both regions) the blizzard blew, and atop were possibly the two greatest trainers of all time...

"Exbo, Flame Wheel!" Gold shouted to his trusty Typhlosion.

"Pikachu, dodge, then Quick Attack!"

Both trainers were down to their last pokemon. Which were both their first ever pokemon. Gold had just defeated both the Johto & Kanto league. He then hunted down the Kanto champion, Red. He found him atop Mt. Silver, hence battling him now. Red had come up here to train his pokemon, a harsh place, but they were used to it. After all, they had been here almost a year.

The small electric mouse jumped out the way of the Typhlosion who had curled into a ball of fire. The Pikachu then charged into the back of it dealing moderate damage. Both pokemon were tired. The Typhlosion (or Exbo) then fell but got back up, but it was covered in a red color, not unlike the beam of a pokeball. Red recognised this as Typhlosiobs ability, which was the same as his Charizard. Blaze. It made fire-type moves stronger when that certain pokemon was low on HP.

"Let's finish this! Typhlosion! Inferno!" Gold shouted as though he had it all planned out. Red stood shocked, this battle was the best he had ever had. He didnt order Pikachu, he had no idea of what Inferno actually was. A huge beam of blue fire exploded from Typhlosion's mouth, engulfing Pikachu, making it faint. Red returned the pokemon.

"Well done buddy. You did perfect." Gold did the same with his pokemon. Red had no idea what to say. Gold was powerful, he had a great bond with his pokemon. "Well done Gold," Red said shaking his hand. And somehow Red wasnt even upset. "Or should I say 'Champion?'" He said with a chuckle.

Gold smiled. "It was an honor Red,"

"But Gold, promise me one thing."

"Huh?"

"Do not do the same mistake as I8 did. Stay in Kanto or Johto, your choice. Your pokemon are the strongest I have ever faced. And I have faced a lot of stong ones!"

"I wont. I promise. So now what?"

"Well, you need to go to Lance, and announce that you beat me!" Red replied.

"No. I mean you. What will you do?"

"Well, i've been thinking Gold. Im bored of being strong. I... I need to start fresh."

Gold just stood there bewildered. "Start fresh? Everyone knows you, you cant just 'Start fresh!'"

"I know. But I want a new challenge. People don't know me accross seas."

"Are you mental? Accross seas?!"

Red laughed. "Yep, ima go back to Pallet and tell my Mother, the Professor. And an old friend!"

"So I guess this is goodbye?"

"Till next time, friend." And with that, red brought out and healed his charizard and flew of the mountain, Gold thenfollowing, they parted ways. Possibly to never see each other again.

Short, but it was pretty good. Just needs to a little cleanup to fix some typos and punctuation. I felt like the battle could have been a little more descriptive, but the dialogue was good. I'm interested to see the next chapter.

Also, I heard this phrase somewhere for writing. "Parenthetical statements (however relevant) are unnecessary." :p

Chapter One: A Fresh Start!

The first thing Red did once he landed in Pallet town, was to go straight to his house, Pallet Town still had the small, quaint feel. And Red welcomed this. It was only now, that he realised how much he missed home.

He knocked twice and entered. "Ahem, Um mom, im home!" he shouted, his mother came rushing down the stairs as soon as she heard his voice.

"Oh my. Red. Is it really you?"

"Course it is." He said running to his mom. They were stuck in an embrace for seconds. But for Red, he could have stayed their all year.

"How long has it been!? Not one phone call! All I had was letters fron you Red!" Her tone had changed into that of a banshee.

"Woah, sorry mom! I, just needed some time away! I mean a champion has his duties..."

"What! So being stuck atop a mountain is a 'Champion's Duty?'"

"Well I left every now and agai--"

"So you left the mountain. But didnt even think about seeing your mother!" Red was bewildered, he hadnt expected this. "Look." Her tone changed again, this time, back to the person Red knew and loved. "Im sorry Red. I've just missed you."

"It's okay Mom. But. There is just one thing. I was beaten by someone atop Mount Silver, who is now the pokemon champion, well of Kanto at least."

"What are you trying to say. Oh wait! I know, you want this person assassinated!" Red's Mother replied.

"Woah... No mom not that. Im going away again. To a region Over-seas." He showed her a ticket. "But this time, im going to leave someone, or something here with you, to remember me!"

His mother swept her long brown hair out of her face. "Again! Well. You gotta do what you gotta do. So whats this 'thing'"

Red took a pokeball from his belt.

"Pika??" The small mouse pokemon wondered where he was.

"Hey Pikachu. Welcome home."

Red explained everything to Pikachu. He then got changed, although he was wearing the same attire as usual. He left his mom with a kiss and Pikachu. He didnt stay long as he wasnt really a sentimental person. After all that, he headed towards to the lab of Pallet Town. He told Prof. Oak everything, and had explained that Blue had also gone to a far away region. Red questioned this as he thought Blue turned into a Proffesor, like his grand father. He then also left his full pokemon team at the lab.

Just before he left he asked a question. "Professor, what region is this boat taking me to?" He flashed a ticket he had recieved long ago.

"That, Red. That boat is the S.S Tidal. It'll take you to Hoenn!

This chapter was rushed I know that. So sorry!

Well heres chapter Two!

Chapter Two: Frienemies?

Red couldnt believe it, he felt just as good as when he got his first pokemon, Pikachu. He was currently on the deck of the ship, he was sat down admiring the sea. The pokemon from the Kanto region, were dying down in numbers, and replaced by water pokemon, which (Red thought) were only native to Hoenn. The Tentacool stayed, but the Magikarp and Goldeen's were replaced by ugly looking fish pokemon.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have entered Hoenn waters and we are approximately 15 minutes from docking. Thankyou." A loud voice from the tannoy said. Red pulled out a postcard with three pokemon, Red pointed to each one and named them aswell.

"Torchic. The fire type." The picture was a little orange chick. "Treecko, the grass type." A gecko like pokemon. "And Mudkip, the water pokemon!" A small blue pokemon, with orange fur on its cheek." The minutes passed quickly, and eventually, most of the passengers were heading off the boat, Red being one of them. Red looked around when he noticed a man waiting with a sign saying Red (A/N Didnt know Red's Second name :-(), he ran over to greet the man, who said he was one of Proffesor Birch's aides. Red followed him into a black car which drove him towards the lab, stopping outside it.

"Oh, and Red?" The aide asked.

"Hm?"

"Your secrets safe with us, only a small majority of people know who you are." And with that he winked and drove off. Red whistled, that had taken a load of his chest. He walked into the lab.

"Proffesor Birch?" He questioned into the silence.

"Ahah! Red. Welcome to Hoenn!" He came out of a room followed by someone. Who said something,

"Wait, Red?" The figure moved out from behind the professor.

"Blue?!" Red exclaimed. Hugging his best friend. He had used to be a jerk, but now Red couldnt ask for a better friend.

"No way! You're in Hoenn! Are you getting your first pokemon?"

"You know it Blue!"

"Well that makes us rivals! You wont beat me this time!" He exclaimed with a friendly wink.

"I thought you knew each other! But dont worry, possibly all of Kanto and maybe even Johto know who you are right?"

Red and Blue nodded simultaneously.

"Well in Hoenn, most people dont bother about Kanto, apart from the scientists and people like them. So you wont have loads of people surrounding you here and there in Hoenn. But anyway. You're not here to hear me lecture!" He pulled out three pokeballs, and revealed the pokemon inside them. Which Red had already seen.

"Red, you pick first!" Red knew why he had done this, it was so he could get the upper hand.

"Hmm... I dont know." He didnt know what to expect from this region, what gyms he would come up against. "Il pick Torchic!" He recieved the pokeball of the Prodlfessor, and then some more to capture some pokemon. Blue did exactly what Red knew he would do, and chose the Mudkip.

"Hey you two! Before you go, pass me your pokedexes." Once he got them, he put a chip in both. "Your pokedex is from Kanto, so it wont recognise Hoenn pokemon, but it will now!"

The two trainers thanked the Proffesor and walked out the lab.

"Well, smell you later Red!" Blue smiled and ran off.

"That was wierd." Red had expected a battle request. "Anyway, Torchic, do you want to stay out of your pokeball?"

The Torchic nodded happily, and both trainer and pokemon, walked away from the lab. To start a new journey. A mew tale!

Here is chapter three!

Chapter Three: Red VS Blue! Part I

Red walked through the first route of the Hoenn region, his carefree Torchic hopping alongside him, taking in all the sights. But that's when Red noticed he didnt have a map or anything of the kind. But Red had coped without a map before. Only it took him two days to get from Pallet to Viridian.

"Hey Torchic! I havent even checked your moves!"

"Torchic chic-" The pokemon said nodding. Red pulled out his pokedex, when he noticed it also had a map feature, Proffesor Birch must have had it on the chip! He pointed the pokedex at Torchic,

"Torchic, the chick pokemon, It has a flame sac inside its belly that perpetually burns, it feels warm uf hugged." And then underneath it showed the moves that Torchic knew.

"Hmm? Scratch and Growl. Just like Charmander. Okay, Torchic practice your Scratch attack on that tree!" Red pointed, and the Torchic ran over to the tree and the next thing Red knew, a mark was engraved in the tree. "Nice!" He said as he hugged the Torchic, and the pokedex was right, it did feel warm! Red then noticed a worm like pokemon, "Alright! Torchic Growl!"

"Tor! Torchic!" It shouted and the worm stayed there in shock.

The worm launched itself towards Torchic, although the tackle did minimul damage thanks to growl.

"Torchic! Scratch!" The little chick charged towards the worm and scratched it accross the belly. "Now go pokeball!" The pokeball sucked in the little worm. The ball rolled about, eventually coming tl a stop in front of Red. "Yes!" Red exclaimed, and Torchic bounced about happily. He let the pokemon out of its pokeball and healed it with a spare potion he had. "Welcome to the team buddy!" Red said stroking the pokemon.

"Wurm, Wurmple!" It smiled.

"Wurmple huh?" Red pulled out his pokedex and scanned the pokemon.

Wurmple, the Worm Pokémon. Wurmple live primarily off of sap from trees. The suction cups on its feet keep it from slipping.

Red thought this to be the Caterpie/Weedle of the Hoenn region, as it new Tackle, String Shot and Poison Sting.

"Hey Red!" A voice shouted who Red recognised to be Blue. "I cant get to were the first gym is in Petalburg as some police officer is blocking the way! So I had to find something to pass the time, and I found you! So Red, I challenge you to a battle!"

"Well I accept your challenge Blue! Wurmple! Go!" Red shouted and Wurmple jumped in front of him.

"Poocheyena! Howl!" Blue shouted as he threw his own pokeball high in the air, and out of it came a small black wolf pokemon.

"What the point in just Howling?"

"Well Red, everytime Howl is used, the attack of Poocheyena goes up!"

"Damn, Wurmple, Tackle!" The Wurmple charged towards the wolf hitting it side on for a moderate amount of damage.

"Howl." Blue spoke calmly. He was planning something, and Red didnt like it. But then an idea hit Red,

"Use String Shot all over the floor!" The Wurmple shot string from its 'tail' all over the floor.

"Ha, what will that di! Howl, then Tackle!" The poochyena howled one last time and then charged towards Wurmple. But the string on the floor stopped it, Poochyena was stuck!

"Yes! Now, Tackle till it faints!" Wurmple did exactly that, and eventually, Poochyena fainted. So Blue had to return him.

"Well done Red, but now. Go Mudkip!"

Chapter Four: Red Vs Blue Part II

Red was actually scared of losing his first battle. Blue was down to his last pokemon, which was also his strongest. "Mudkip, let's practice that new move! Mud-Slap!" Blue shouted to his Mudkip who turned away from Wurmple and kicked its hind legs into the ground kickong up mud towards Wurmple, who was hit by the full force. It dealt small damage, but now mud was in Wurmple's eyes so Red could only assume that its accuracy would be bad aswell.

"Wurmple. Return!" Red said, pointing the pokeball at him. He put it onto his belt and pulled out another and threw it in the air. "Torchic, I choose you!" The pokeball exploded to reveal the orange chick, who prepared for battle.

"Red? You've been stuck up that mountain for almost a year! And you still dont know type match ups! Mudkip, Mud-Slap! And since its a ground move you take double damage!" Blue shouted with glee.

"Torchic Growl! then Scratch!" The growl attack kept Mudkip standing still, too scared to do anything. Leaving it wide open for Torchic's Scratch.

"Damn! Mudkip return!"

"What?!" Red shouted.

"That's right Red, I also have a Wurmple!" He put emphasis on the last word, as he sent the pokemon out.

"Torchic, return. Come back out Wurmple!" Red exclaimed.

"So, Wurmple VS Wurmple huh? Tackle." Blue said calmly.

"Okay Wurmple. Same as earlier, String Shot!" But instead of doing what it was told. It used it on itself. Coating itself in string. "What the hell are you doing?" Red said, bewildered. While Blue was doubled over, and only just managed to say "Poison Sting." But his Wurmple wasnt listening. He was to mesmerized by the white light radiating of Wurmple. "Yes!" Red shouted, Wurmple had evolved! And in its place was a 'cocoon' like pokemon. Red pulled out his pokedex.

Silcoon, the Cocoon Pokémon. Silcoon is the evolved form of Wurmple. Using its thread to attach itself to a tree branch, it waits to evolve to its next stage. When it grows thirsty, it drinks the dew that collects on its string.

Blue stopped laughing. "Grr. Wurmple Tackle!"

"Silcoon dodge!" But the Silcoon just stayed there, letting the attack hit it. "What the?" it seemed like it couldnt move.

"Haha, Poison Sting!" Blue shouted certain he had won.

"Poison Sting aswell!" And Red's Silcoon overpowered Wurmple, making Wurmple faint, "Well done Silcoon." And then both trainers returned their pokemon, and both sent out their last pokemon.

"Okay, Mudkip, Mud-Slap one more time."

"Dodge the mud then Scratch!" And since Mudkip was already low on health. It fainted.

"Well done buddy. Return. As for you Red, you beat me with 2 vs 3 pokemon. Well dine, but I gotta smell ya later!" He said as he ran off. Leaving Red on route 101...

A/N: I know the last part of the battle was a bit dull. I am horrible at descriptions :/

Chapter 5! The title is something to do with Jim Carrey lol!

Chapter Five: B e a utifly!

Red had just passed Oldale Town, he had gone north to find a dead end so he went west out of the town, were the policeman was earlier. "Hmm..." Red hummed as he pulled out his pokedex, "So. The next town is Petalburg City! That's were the next gym is! And we are currently on Route 102!" Suddenly a pokemon Red had never seen ran accross in front of him, in a zig zag pattern.

Red pulled out a pokeball when he heard a shout, "Stop Ziggy!" The voice belonged to a young boy. Red jumped in front of the pokemon, and it jumped into his hands. The boy had caught up to the pokemon. Panting he said, "Gee, thanks mister!" He took the pokemon back of Red, "Don't run away like that, you scared me! Gee mister, you look awful familier." The boy gasped, "OH MY GOD!"

"Ahhhhh!" Red screamed. "What is it!"

"You're Red! From the Kanto region!"

Red facepalmed, so much for no one knowing who he is. "Okay okay. Shhh!" He put a finger to his lips. "I dont need everyone knowing who I am! How many other people know who I am?"

"No one! Im the only one in my whole school that likes you!"

"Wow. Phew! Remember it's a secret. But anyway, can you lead the way to Petalburg?"

"Can I! Anything for you Red! Say. You wouldnt mind doing your number one Hoenn fan a favour?"

"Um, sure." Red replied. Uncertain where this was going.

"Well, I have two pokemon that I want to get stronger, so id like to challenge you to a battle? But if you dont want to its fine..." The boy said shyly.

"Of course!" Red exclaimed. He moved a few steps back from the boy and sent out a pokemon. "Silcoon. Come on out buddy!" The cocoon pokemon exploded from the pokeball.

"No flippin way! Im gonna battle Red. Eeeeeeeeeek!" Red flinched. That was the girliest 'eek' ever. "Ziggy. I choose you!" The pokemon jumped out of the boy's arms.

"Okay! Silcoon, up your defenses! Harden!"

"Ziggy! Tackle!" The zig zag pokemon charged into Silcoon, but bounced straight of it thanks to harden. "Grr. Ziggy! Quick Attack!" The pokemon charged again at Silcoon, not unlike Tackle, but this time, at a fast speed. Silcoon didnt see it coming, and was hit hard. But then Silcoon used String Shot, but instead of using it on its opponent, it used it on the nearest tree and just stayed there. Away from the battle.

"What. The. Actual. Hell." Red muttered. "Well then, Torchic! Let's go! Scratch!" But again, the pokemon just stood their. Charging up an attack it seemed. "Focus Energy!" Red muttered.

"Huh, Ziggy, Tackle!"

"Unleash Scratch, Torchic!" The Zigzagoon ran again towards Torchic, but it was literally swept aside by Scratch, and fell to the floor with a thud.

"Unlucky Ziggy. Return." He pulled of a different pokeball, "Ralts!" And out of the pokeball came a small humanoid white pokemon, with some kind of green wig.

Red pulled out his pokedex, "Ralts, the Feeling Pokémon. Ralts is the pre-evolved form of Kirlia. It can use the horns on its head to read human emotions. Ralts rarely shows itself to humans, but may occasionally approach when it senses positive or happy feelings."

"Torchic, Focus Energy again!" Red waited for the boy to command his pokemon, but it was already using a move. Thats when Red realised. "Damn, Sabrina did this. Right now, his Ralts is using Calm Mind. And he doesnt have to command. As she can read his mind! Torchic, Scratch!" Torchic ran towards Ralts, but Ralts just jumped out of the way. Then it stared into Torchic's eyes. And somehow Torchic fell to the floor, but tried to get back up. "That was Confusion! Grr. Come on Torchic!"

"Confusion again Ralts." The boy said aloud, showing Red that he had won. When all of a sudden, a big butterfly pokemon jumped in front of Torchic, blocking Ralt's Confusion, and used it itself!

"What the?" Red pulled out his pokedex again. "Beautifly, the Butterfly Pokémon, and the evolved form of Silcoon. When flowers are in bloom, Beautifly fly about gathering pollen."

"Evolced form of Silcoon?" Red looked over to the tree Silcoon had latched itself on to. But it wasnt there, only a chrysalis was. Red pumped his fist into the air. "Yes! Silcoon you evolved! "Okay, Beautifly, Confusion again!" As she carried out the attack, Red checked the pokedex for moves. "Woah. Okay, Finish with Bug Bite!" The butterfly pokemon charged at Ralts, and bit into its neck. Ralts couldnt hold on and fainted.

"Yes!" The boy shouted.

Red was confused. "Yes? You just got beat?"

"I know! But it was against you. Anyway. Petalburgs just that a way!" He said with a point. Seeya Red!"

"Hmph. See ya kid."

yay i figured out how to sign in to this and post on my 3ds i think this is a very intresting twist on what we know about the games im not a learned reviewer

i would review but dont really know what to do. Anyways, if I tried, it'd probaly be an epic failure. Please start writing more chapters. Don't know if you've just been writing for a while or what but I think you should keep writing this story.

Please note: The thread is from 12 years ago.
Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
