This is one of my stories in fanfiction, I have many good reviews
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
He pulled a golden trophy which had a Pokeball on top of it. "It felt like it was just yesterday when I beat that Steven and became Champion." He began laughing to himself and put back the trophy in his backpack as he was riding the bike of his given to him by Rydel.
Taking out his case of eight Hoenn gym Badges which he worked hard throughout the previous year to enter the Evergrande Conference. "I can't wait to put these puppies on display. I make May so jealous..."
Oh man I forgot!!! He remembered. "Yesterday was May's birthday and I forgot to bring her present. More importantly, today is the day she is going to start her Pokemon journey and the day I make her mines!!!"
The boy always liked May ever since when she moved to Hoenn as a young girl from Johto when her father, Norman was given the position as Gym Leader of Petalburg City when the former Leader had retired and had no family members who were willing to take the position.
"I wonder how much May changed in the past year. Probably even looking even hotter than she was!" He smiled at the thought of picturing her. "I'm so excited!!!"
He then because of his deep thinking about May that he didn't know what was heading right in front of him which was a tree. He hit his face right into the oak tree really hard.
Getting up and putting back up his bike. "Damn that hurts. Maybe I shouldn't think about May when I'm riding a bicycle. Wait nonsense, there's never a wrong time to think about her!!" He then rode out off to the wind.
He then stopped at a hill overlooking his familiar hometown of Littleroot Town. It was the place where trainers in the Hoenn region recieved their Starter Pokemon out of three choices. One was Torchic, the Fire-type, another was Mudkip, a Water-type and of course Treecko, the Grass type. Brendan of course had chosen a Mudkip which became the Swampert in which he won every Gym Battle.
Brendan smiled at seeing his hometown. "I'm glad to see good old Littleroot once again after the past few months. It sure has grown in size since the last time I have been here." Looking at the new houses where there used to be forest.
"I wonder who to see first." Then someone popped into his head. "I should really visit Mom back at the house. I need to check my room just in case she didn't rent it to someone else. Onwards to the Birch residence!!!!"
Thirty minutes later, Brendan had arrived to his house. The house was like every other house in his neighborhood, built of stone and had two floors. It was a small house though since being a Professor didn't pay as much as Brendan would think his dad would make. Since they lived in a densely populated neighborhood, there was not much of a frontyard and no backyard.
He looked at the house and smiled. "Wow. Mom sure didn't change this place a bit. It's still the crapper that I visited back at Christmas after beating May's dad. Let's come on in!"
He knocked on the door and no one answered it. Brendan was slightly irritated. God! Is Mom this slow when coming to the door! I told I was coming today!!!
Knocking on it again and still no answer, he screamed. "OPEN THE DOOR FOR YOUR SON!!!"
The door opened and a white haired woman with brown eyes opened the door. No, she wasn't getting old but it was her natural hair color which is rare. She was wearing a apron that covered her clothes and had in one of her hands a pot.
"Can't it wait!" She screamed to the boy without realizing it was her son that she was yelling. "I'm making scrambled eggs for my son!"
Brendan sweated. "It is me, Mom.."
She opened her eyes and saw it was her son who had came back at last from Evergrande City. Dropping the pot of the breakfast she had been making, she hugged her son. "Brendan! You're home! I was so worried about you that you weren't gonna come home especially with those mean Team Magma and Aqua in the area. Come on in!"
"By the way Mom. You dropped your pot and the eggs are spread all over the floor." He sweated at his mother's kissing and hugging him.
She smiled. "No worry about it. I vaccum it later. Mind telling me about your travels over a cup of tea at the living room?"
"Of course Mom." He smiled having much to tell.
Thirty minutes later, Brendan was talking to his Mom in the living room about all of his travels across the Hoenn region in the previous year meeting new people, having rivals, and challenging Gyms.
"I heard from your father is that you helped a boy in Petalburg City catch his own Pokemon and start his own journey?" His mom asked sipping the cup of tea.
Brendan smiled. "Well I don't want to brag but yeah Norman let him borrow one of his Pokemon and I gave Wally some tips in which he used to capture a Ralts."
"That's very sweet, Brendan. You're just like your father when he was a young boy when I met him." Brendan's Mom smiled.
Brendan sipped his own cup. "It was even sweeter I crushed his Pokemon with my unbeatable Swampert. Last time I checked, he was still in Evergrande City training vowing to defeat me one day like that's gonna happen."
"So can I see your Badges, son?"
Brendan smiled at his mother's sudden interest in him. "Okay." He took out his backpack a case in which he opened revealing the badges. "These are all the eight official Badges I obtained. This one here was from Norman, Mray's dad. Remember?"
His mother laughed. "Of course. May and her brother Max weren't too happy seeing their father losing. Where is your trophy?"
Brendan pulled it out and put it right in the middle of the coffee table. "This is my trophy." To Brendan Birch, champion of the Hoenn League Evergrande Conference. He read to his mother.
His mother hugged him. "I'm so proud of you. When I invite all the neighborhood moms, they'll be so jealous not to have such a achieving son."
"Thanks Mom. Did I get anything for me in the mail while I was on my journey?"
She handed a envelope to him. "Right after the Evergrande Conference had ended, this envelope came to my house all anonymous. It says it's only to be opened by you."
"Cool." Brendan smiled as he ripped the envelope and took out a piece of paper. "Cool! A letter!"
His Mom was all excited. "Read it son!!!"
Brendan nodded. "Sure Mom."
Dear Brendan Birch,
My people have heard of your crowning as Champion of this year's Hoenn Evergrande Conference and defeating the current Champion, Steven. I am especially impressed with how well you worked with your Pokemon. You have proved yourself to have the potential it takes to become a Pokemon Master.
Well, my people and I decided to give you a tough challenge that we think you might like. Have you ever heard of the Battle Frontier? Probably not since only the best trainers know about it. There are seven Battle Facilities with its own Frontier Brain much like a regular Gym Leader but more powerful. The seven people we made our Frontier Brains are one of the best in the entire world and we think you have the gut to do it.
If you defeat a Frontier Brain, you earn something called a Frontier Symbol. If you win six of the seven Frontier Symbols, the location of the seventh will be revealed to you. The only Battle Frontier facility in Hoenn for now is the Battle Tower, the rest are up north spread in the Kanto region. It will be difficult to acquire a ticket to Kanto so we gave you a Ferry Ticket to take you from Littleroot to Vermillion in three days.
From,
Battle Frontier Corp.
P.S. You might remember me as Scott.
His mother glowed in happiness and ran up to him. "Wow!! You got invited by Scott to challenge the Battle Frontier and its seven Frontier Brains! You must be honored!"
"I am! Just like everyone I faced a couple of days ago at the Evergrande Conference, I'm going to crush this group of 'elite' trainers and be considered the most powerful Trainer in the world!" Brendan proclaimed.
His mother sweated at seeing his son's display of confidence in himself. "Don't be too cocky. Plus remember you couldn't have done without becoming one with your Pokemon."
"Yes I know."
"By the way, your father at the Lab says he has a surprise for you! I wonder what it is...probably something involving Pokemon."
Oh man! Dad! "I was so busy talking about my adventures is that I forgot to head to my dad's Lab. Today is the day that May is going to start her Pokemon journey and I do not want to be late!" He kissed his mom on the cheek and ran outside and went on his bike. "Bye Mom!!!"
She looked on as his son quickly disappeared. Some things will never changed. She smiled and went back to the house to clean up the mess she made earlier.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the Birch Lab just outside of the town of Littleroot, Brendan quickly arrived on his bike and dismounted...
Brendan looked at his watch. "Cool! I traveled from home to here in about twenty minutes! That's a new record thanks to this Acro Bike Rydel gave me."
Hopefully I can this over with to head to Petalburg to travel with May! He banged on the door hard impatiently. "Hello!!!"
Someone opened the door and it was Joshua, Professor Birch's assistant. "Do you have to bang the door? It took you twenty minutes to travel ten miles across town? New record huh."
"Sorry Joshua. Didn't mean to you and yes, it is a new record." Brendan smiled. "Where's Dad?"
"Oh yeah. He had a surprise for you. Come on in." Joshua welcomed the white-haired teenager. "It's about to rain anyways."
Joshua led Brendan inside the Lab which remained the same as it was when Brendan started his Pokemon Journey in the Hoenn region the year before. They went to the research room where a husky, brown haired man in his 30s with a small beard wearing a labcoat was looking at some strange Pokemon.
The assistant said. "Hello Professor Birch. Your son is here for that surprise for yours."
"Oh hello son!" Professor Birch smiled and shaked his son's hand. "How long has it been since you visited me?"
Brendan began thinking of the last time he visited. "I think it was back at Christmas. Well I'm here. What did you want to show me?"
Professor Birch went out of the way and three Pokemon were right in front of Brendan. These Pokemon were not native to the Hoenn region. One of them had a leaf on its head while the other had slinty eyes and flames on its back. The other one resembled a crocodile yet small with red scales and blue skin.
"I never seen these Pokemon before. Are they native to Hoenn?" Brendan was amazed and looked at the three strange Pokemon.
Joshua said. "No Brendan. These Pokemon can not be seen in Hoenn at all. Tell him, Professor Birch."
"You are looking at the three Starter Pokemon from the Johto region?" Professor Birch smiled. "You like?"
"How did you manage to get Pokemon from Johto over here!" Brendan exclaimed.
"I explain it to him myself, Professor." Joshua smiled. "Professor Birch and me were on a research trip to the Johto region along with Professor Elm in which we caught Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile."
Brendan said. "I can identify it. Chikorita is a Grass Type and Cyndaquil is a Fire Type."
"Very good. Go on." Professor Birch said.
"Totodile is the Water Type." Brendan turned his focus to the energetic Johto Water Starter.
Joshua said. "Very good Brendan. You are ready for the surprise then. Tell him, Professor."
"What surprise?" Brendan asked.
"I'm allowing you to take one of these starters as a gift for becoming Champion and giving us so much data on Hoenn's exotic Pokemon. Choose wisely." Professor Birch said.
Brendan smiled. "Really?"
"Of course. Be smart with your choice." Joshua said looking as Brendan was trying to see which Johto Starter he'll take."
"Chika!!!" Chikorita was pleading to Brendan to take it.
"Cynda..." Cyndaquil was sleeping
"Tota!! Tota!! Totodile!!!" Totodile was dancing and hopping happily.
Brendan said. "I'll take Totodile!"
Within a couple of seconds, the blue crocodile Water Johto Starter jumped happily to Brendan's arms much to the deteriment of the other Starters.
"He's so cool!!!" Brendan exclaimed hugging his new Totodile.
Professor Birch smiled. "It looks like Totodile has taken a liking to you." Has a Pokeball in his hand. "This is Totodile's Pokeball." He gives to Brendan.
"Totodile Return!!!" Brendan returned his new Pokemon to the Pokeball. "By the way, did Mom tell you what happened?"
"No." Professor Birch said. "She probably didn't call yet."
"I got invited to challenge the Battle Frontier. In a couple of days, I'm heading to my first challenge the Battle Tower to face the Salon Maiden!!" Brendan proclaimed.
Professor Birch hugged his son tightly and noogied him. "My son is going to challenge is going to challenge the Battle Frontier!!! So you're going by yourself!!"
"Well I was thinking of bringing May Maple, the girl I have a crush on? Remember, the son of Norman and Caroline. Has a annoying brother named Max. Isn't she coming later to get her Pokemon?" Brendan said happily.
Professor Birch said. "Uhhhhh ummmmm. Should you tell him, Joshua or should I?"
"You're the Dad. Well if you need me I'm going to Town! Bye!!!" Joshua quickly ran into town.
Professor Birch scratched his head nervously. "Ummm son. How do I explain it to you? May came and got her Pokemon a week ago."
"What the hell? Well at least I can catch up to her and travel with her to the Battle Frontier and make her my girlfriend!" Brendan laughed boasting his crush on the brunette.
Professor Birch said. "May is traveling with someone..."
"That's cool. I can handle another girl in my group. I am after May only!!!" Brendan smirked.
Prof. Birch said. "Brendan. She's traveling with a boy! Someone her age!!"
Brendan grew immediately mad and grabbed his Dad. "WHO!!!!!"
"Some boy named Ash Ketchum!!!! May said to me she liked him a lot and is planning to make him all to herself." The Professor said. "I'm sorry...there are other girls.."
Brendan went on the floor and looked up at the skywindow. "Damn you Ash Ketchum!!!!" He screamed angrily then in one second calmed down. "Oh well. What's lost is lost. Bye Dad. I'm off to the Battle Tower." He ran and got on his bike and left to do some training.
Professor Birch scratched his head and Joshua, his assistant, came out of the trash.
"Is he gone?" Joshua said coming out of the trash.
Professor Birch sweatdropped. "Yeah he's off to the Battle Frontier.."
"How did he take it to his crush, May falling for that Ash kid?" Joshua said.
"He was a bit bad but he took it well and now he's off to better and bigger things." Professor Birch smiled as he saw the ever-disappearing image of Brendan heading for his next journey.
