Hello everyone,

To help ensure the best user experience possible, we'll be making a brand new forum that is only for FAQs. There's a lot of features this forum has that may be confusing, and we want to help alleviate that.

But what better way to build a FAQ than to ask the people that will use it just what they need? So please post questions in this thread that you'd like to see included in the Bulbagarden FAQ. The FAQ will be its own subforum in the Garden Grotto, and each question will have its own thread.

Ok, I see some people getting confused about other users using the Japanese names? So I'll go with..

"Why are the other users using different names for the characters and Pokemon than the ones that I use?"

(And before you ask, people, no, it's not a question that I'm asking personally...)

Let's see...

A quick start BBCode guide for every purpose?
What each setting means for profile style customisation and blog style customisation? (Separate)
How to post VMs properly?

I'm not a normal member but...

"How do I check the size of an image?" might be good. With signature image limits, as well as some forums/threads employing size rules, I think it would get some use.

If you look at the "Posting Permissions" box under the reply box on a thread, you'll see that there's a link on "BB code". It leads to this, which has a list of tags on there.

That's the problem. Not on a small corner - it's not obvious. And some of the images inside are broken. Could give it a fix while we're at it.

I guess having something that explains why some members have usernames that look different to everybody else's (moderators and administrators) would be helpful - I've seen a few new members that have been confused about that - and maybe a link to the Forum Leaders page so that people know who they are - I've also seen people wondering who the moderators are, and getting confused as to how they're different to ordinary members.

(that paragraph wasn't great, sorry - huge headache).

There could be a general guide to posting, too, explaining things that are acceptable to say and do in a post, and the options that there are to choose from on the page that you post from (BBCode, creating polls, etc). It's not exactly difficult to figure out, but it would help a few people, at least.

A how to resize an image FAQ would be good, some people want to resize avis without them looking like compression.

How to use the IRC chat? That could work as an FAQ.

@Musashi - What about the current guide? Would that stay?

-Sig/Avatar limits, picture size deemed acceptable, text, image limit

-Blog settings, character/image limit, blog ideas, any blog blacklist (what can't someone discuss), using other member's blogs, privacy settings, etc

Yes, I agree with this. I learned how to use IRC chat last week. *shot*

Also, what about how to use the settings? Like, how to change your username and usertitle, etc.

"Why am I getting 502/503/504/404 errors and what should I do/What is a 502/503/504/404 error?"

Remain calm people. Nobody panic.

How to set an animated avatar and could we possibly put a links section in it to some of the other guides and rules?

Why do banned users all have the same user title?

Took me a while to find what it meant.

I think it would be good to include "related" guides. Like if you are looking a a FAQ thread about image limits, there could be links at the end to related FAQ topics like when it's appropriate to use spoilers etc.

Shouldn't it be "An"? Sorry but its been irking my nerves
