Some of you have already seen this posted in my LiveJournal. If not, hear me out.

TOKYOPOP has betrayed its loyal customers and has decided to stop publishing the Slayers novels after the sixth book. The series doesn't end until the 15th, but TOKYOPOP is portraying the sixth as the finale. These novels are extremely important to Slayers fans, as they are the basis for the popular anime series and contain much more content than the anime.

Although it is really the least we can do (some are writing letters), a petition has been started to get TOKYOPOP to publish the remaining novels.

Even if you aren't a Slayers fan or have never heard of it, please sign the petition if you support our cause. Just imagine if a series you love was put on the chopping block. Just imagine if 4Kids stopped dubbing the Pokémon anime and it was only on TV in Japan.

I ask for your help, and if it is received, I thank you very much.

I've got no problem signing this, though I highly doubt that they'll care. People are going to buy whatever it is that TOKYOPOP releases next either way. A more effective method of getting the point across would be to organize a "movement" within scanlation groups to start scanlating and distributing the Japanese version of said manga series. ;D

Online petitions do nothing. For any hope of getting the message across, people have to actually write to TokyoPop. Email will do, but an actual letter on paper is easily worth ten or even a hundred emails.

Murgatroyd does have a point, though I'm unsure if even that would yield anything. Or maybe I'm just this much of a rebel, preferring my own methods.. ;) The best course of action would be to tackle this on both fronts, methinks.

Amen. I don't know HOW many things the Transformers community has tried to get accomplished through online petitions (including trying to get the new Masters of the Universe series back on the air). Writing e-mails to the company is your best bet. But don't hold your breath. Every year we have Hasbro reps at the big Transformers conventions. Some stuff they listen to the fans on, but other things just can't be helped (I WANT A FORT MAX REISSUE!!!). But direct action is ALWAYS better than a petition. A petition takes two seconds. An e-mail can take MUCH longer, and it gives the company the idea that people actually care, and if they'll take the time to write an e-mail, then they'll take the time to actually buy the product.

The petition is actually a supplement to people taking action, just to rally people together and raise awareness. As I said, a lot of people are writing paper letters, and I believe some are doing it via certified mail.

In any case, TOKYOPOP is already aware of the movement.

Could you post an address here? I'm gonna to write to them about this, becuase it pisses me off. I have the first two volumes already, though I haven't gotten the chance to read them. I'd like to get the whole dang story.
