Contest A Feline Battle: Persian vs Delcatty vs Purugly vs Liepard

I'm not much of a cat fan (I love dogs and canine Pokemon way more), but I feel this would be an interesting match up, and I do like some of the feline Pokemon. This match up is between the evolved forms of each two-stage feline Pokemon we've seen so far. I haven't seen a thread for these cats yet either, so yeah.

As for my answer, I like Liepard best. I like that it's the only one that's a dark type instead of a normal type and that it's based on one of the large cats (the leopard) instead of a domesticated or other small cat like the others are. Purugly is my second favorite, because it also has a sort of uniqueness to it. Unlike the other cats, it isn't meant to look classy or glamorous or attractive at all. Its name even says that it's supposed to be an ugly fat cat and I just think that's awesome. And here are my answers for the questionnaire.

1. Liepard, definitely. I think it just has an awesome design overall. The purple color is cool and so are the spots and such. Otherwise, Purugly > Persian >>>>>>>> Delcatty.
2. I'm not really sure. I've only used Persian and Liepard out of the four anyway. But I do know that Delcatty has a pretty varied movepool, being able to learn moves like Thunderbolt, Blizzard, and Solarbeam, so it might be the best.
3. Liepard, definitely. I love that dark red color.
4. Liepard. Purrloin >>> Glameow > Meowth >>>>>>>> Skitty

I know she's pure crap competitively, but I'm voting Delcatty. Mostly because of the utter cuteness factor.

Though I must say, I once trained her in Emerald (I was using a team based off of Anime!May's team) and she held her own quite well.

I don't really like any of these Pokemon and I've never trained one of them but I'm choosing Persian just for its classic and majestic appearance (and because Giovanni has one ).

I really like Liepard. It's my favorite out of all the cats. I think it's cool that it is a dark type and a leopard. It's pre evolution Purrloin is also the most adorable IMO, and I prefer it's shiny color more than the rest(a nice dark red/pink color)

i don't really care to much for the Feline pokemon but Liepard and Persian i can bare with but i don't think their anything special, I'd have to say Persian gets my vote i prefer her over any of the other cats.

I much prefer Liepard to the other choices. Unlike the others which are based on house cats, Liepard is based on a Leopard cat (not a Leopard, that's a common misconception) which is much more interesting. Purrloin is also the cutest base stage cat by far, though I do have a soft spot for Meowth thanks to the anime.

Despite it's peanut brittle defences, in battle Liepard is actually quite threatening if you know how to use it correctly. With Prankster it can Encore a setup or Psychic move and get a Nasty Plot in, then do some serious damage.

1. Even though Persian is extremely simple, I think I have to go with him. It's just a cool, classy look that's a nice cross between a big cat and a house cat. Although I do like Delcatty too. Purugly is too... well, ugly for me (at least compared to the others) and Liepard just never made any sort of impression on me.

2. I think Persian is the best battler. Technician Fake Out is awesome. Or you can go the special route with Nasty Plot and Swift. It's just an overall useful yet overlooked Pokemon.

3. I think Liepard's shiny form is the best.

4. I don't know if this is just the tiny ounce of nostalgia talking, but Meowth is my favorite of the first stages. I love Meowth in the anime and he just has a cool design I think. Although Skitty is freakin adorable.

So ranking them overall

2. Delcatty
3. Liepard
4. Purugly

I never really noticed that I disliked Purugly so much until I did this.

I think Purugly's design is the best. Most cats you see are... pretty generic cats.

Purugly however, takes its concept from that fat, dirty, unlikeable and bossy kind of cat that wants to make your life miserable. It's wonderful.

I admittedly like Delcatty's appearance, though. But not the rest of it, and I hate its preevolution.

Persian... Perhaps if I knew more of its concept I'd like it more, but as it is it stands as pretty generic for a gen I pokémon.

Liepard is one of the few pokémon of Gen V I can say I don't like. It's design and concept doesn't appeal to me in the slightlest, even though that of its preevolution does, being partially a bakeneko.

Feline Pokemon have never stuck out to me. However, when I look at Delcatty, it's much cuter then I give it credit for. Liepard is kinda a neat design, as well, but I voted for Delcatty.

In order of my favorites then:
1. Purugly
2. Liepard
3. Delcatty
4. Persian

Design wise Purugly is my favorite since fat cats=cuteness, though it's not healthy lol. Liepard is a very close second as it's design is so sleek and pretty, and purple and yellow actually go well with it. Delcatty is also cute, but it's pre-evo is just slightly cuter, it's design is alright too but nothing that sticks out too much for me. And as for Persian, it's also cute and I do like it, but it's just a bit more boring compared to the other choices, I greatly prefer it's Alolan counterpart.

Battle wise I pretty much mainly used Purugly and Liepard more compared to the others, which only saw very few quick runs/battles on my teams. Though I'd say Purugly was the most reliable for me in my gen IV playthroughs.

My favorite is Purugly, Liepard, And Persian, I also named my Purugly in platinum is, THICC CAT and i named my Liepard is Purbeauty and i still have no Persion.

Why i Like Purugly? Because Purugly the fastest pokemon and a FAT CAT with a tail corset AND IT'S FASTER TO ATTACK
Why i Like Liepard? Because it's skinny...Fin.
Why I like Persian? Because it's a hybrid of Liepard and a Meowth.....FIN.
