I'm gonna try my hand at a little fun DP Anime site (with my own style of flair!) and need some help.

1. Could anyone make a simple, yet neato layout? I am not that skilled at design, I do know basic HTML...but I'm not good with layouts. I really would like a layout like Dogasu uses on his site. I always thought it was simple, yet effective.

2. This is for Filb or Nyoo. Are the pictures on Filb free to use if I give credits, and upload them to my own server? Or not...

3. Any ideas of what I should do to make mine stand out?

The third point is definately one than any prospective webmaster needs to consider.

In your case, "be yourself" would probably do the job. :-D
 
This site is mainly for fun though. I won't be trying to compete with Serebii, Bulbagarden, or any other site. Hell, I'm gonna put links to those pages. The only thing about those sites, are they lack "personality" so too say. As in, their kinda mechanical. My site will try too be an "entertaining" site, with cheap laughs, dumb jokes, and badly done photoshops.
 
Any official art Filb.de, or any other site for that matter, posts is technically fair use and should be free for you to use. Of course, that doesn't mean your reputation won't be damaged by a site if you take material it found or scanned without permission.

I'm sure you've heard all the "this and this site stole from me!" claims at Serebii.net. He doesn't own the exclusive rights to shit unless it's his own artwork.
 
Well, I've seen WPM watermarking Sugimori art found on official sites. XD
