A few questions about the music

This one might be a little tricky, but here it is:

1) You know that tune that plays when they walk into the Ice Cave? I know a longer version plays during the beginning of the first Dratini episode. What episode has the longest version?

Here is a clip from the episode, which features that tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfmsUI_l44U

2) Which themes had instrumental versions? I know the first two english theme had two short midis each in Puzzle League, and I know OK and Advance Adventure had instrumental versions, but is there one for Mezase Pokémon Master or any other Japanese openings?

In AG, there are instrumentals for:
* chiisaki mono
* Battle Frontier
* Smile
* L O V E L Y

And perhaps for Spurt! as well, but I am not sure.

"Mezase Pokémon Master" has one in the form of the Kanto series next episode preview music, but to my knowledge it's not on any CD.

I remember that now! I just wasn't sure if it was an instrumental or if there was actually singing. So, is there a long version that I can use to fit the opening theme instead of hearing Japanese singing?

I also have a question about the BGM.

What is the name of the song that plays in AG 177, when the Pyramid starts to fly away?

I think it's a song from the games, and it sounds like it might be a route theme or something.

I love this song! And it would be great if I could download it or something! But, knowing my luck, they never released this song either (which just happens to be the case for all the BGM I'd love to have).

Anyway, I know this song has played in other AG episodes as well, but I don't know which episodes since I haven't seen too many Japanese ones.

Oh, and I don't remember whether the dub has played this particular song or not (something tells me they haven't).

Are you sure you have the episode number right? Because I checked 177 and the episodes before and after it, and none of them have a pyramid in it.

Huh?

But it's AG 177, you know the first Battle Pyramid episode, where Ash gets possessed? O.O

Oh, you're using Bulbagarden's numbering system. That's why.

And to answer the initial question...this song isn't on any CD that I know of. It has been used in the dub, though; particularly, the very end of "Delibird's Dilemma."

Oh, okay.

So, do you know the answer to my question yet, Dogasu?

If not, then maybe someone else would know it, like mogoldmember maybe. He seems to be an expert on the Pokemon BGM. ^^

Um...I just did.

Adding to that, though, I dug out this e-mail from when I originally did the "Delibird's Dilemma" comparison. It tells you other episodes in which the music was used:

Also, while we are on the subsect of music, you said in the Chrismas Special "Delibird's Dilemma" that there was an ending piece of music that was never heard in the Dub. That's not exactly true either. It is the "Route 27" music from the Gold and Silver games. It was heard in the Dub only twice as far as I know. It was used in "Charizard's Burning Ambition" when Brock and Misty reached the Chiricific Valley and in "Mild N Wooly" at the end of that episode.

Oh, I didn't see the bottom of your post until now. ^^o

Yeah, I figured it wasn't on a CD. It must have something to do with the fact that it's a Johto BGM.

That's another song to add to my list of "songs that I need to record from episodes".

Anyway, yes, that makes sense. I thought I had heard that song at least a few times in the dub, because I recognized it when I saw that Japanese episode. I was like, "Huh? Wait, I've heard that song before!!".

I just couldn't place where I had heard it from. Ah yes, "Charizard's Burning Ambitions" and "Mild 'N Wooly", that's two of my favorite episodes. I need to download those.

And that's interesting. I'm gonna have to watch "Delibird's Dilemma" again, cause I didn't notice they used that song when I first saw it.

Thanks for all the info, Dogasu. ^^

Is that version of Battle Frontier from the return of Squirtle/Charizard/Bulbasaur episode available on any CD in Japan?
