That thread title is so creative/original, amirite?

Anyways, yeah, just some stuff I want to know about:

  1. Images in Signatures - I tried to post a Trainer Card I made, but I couldn't seem to get it to work. When I tried using the tags, nothing showed up, and the [SIGPIC] thing shrinks them to the point where my Friend Code is almost illegible. Is there something I'm missing here? (I'm hosting the cards off of Photo Bucket, if that helps any.)
[*][B]Dead Threads[/B] - [URL="http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/showthread.php?t=24950"]This thread[/URL] makes it sound like posting in an old thread is only considered a violation of the rules if the new post "doesn't add anything of value." How do I know if what I want to post is of "value" or not?
[*][B]Hack Threads[/B] - My first thread on here was about help with a cheating device for the GBA games. Someone in that thread (a bit rudely, if you ask me) said that threads about hacking and cheating devices weren't allowed on here. When I read the rules, I didn't see anything about Hack threads. Are they really forbidden?

[B][I]You are doing it like this: [img]<insert.image.url>[/img*] without the <>'s or the * right?[/I][/B]

[B][I]Eh.. personal judgment on your part and mod's really.[/I][/B]

    [I][B]Yes, end of story.[/B][/I]

1. This is what I tried doing: [I M G]Direct link to the picture.[/I M G] (Obviously I didn't use spaces in the tags when I tried using it in my sig.)

That's how it's done on pretty much every other forum I've been to, and I've never had any problems with it.

2. Er...No offense, but that seems like a rather poor way of doing it, especially if they're gonna hand out infractions for it.

3. Mind pointing out where that particular rule is stated? And are there any other rules that weren't in that rule thread that I should know about?

No, there's no rule against hacking, but there is a rule against ROMs. Talking about Action Replay and stuff is okay. Sorry for the misinformation.

Okidokie then. Thanks for clearing that up. Got any tips for questions 1 and 2?

With respect to #1, I'm not really sure why it isn't working; you sure you're using the image tag properly. For #2, if the thread is more than about a month old, you're probably better off posting a new one.

1. Fairly certain I was doing it properly, but I think I tried doing it really late at night, so I may have been half-asleep. I'll try again and get back to you.

2. When making the new thread, should I mention the original thread, or should I just start the topic over from scratch?

EDIT: Sig seems to be working properly now. Guess I messed up somehow when I tried doing it last time.

If anyone flames you about hacking, tell me. As long as you're not asking for codes and make a thread about it, it's fine.

Wait, what? I can't make threads asking for codes? Doesn't that contradict evkl said a few posts up?

You know, we really do need to clear up all this confusion over hacks and codes and stuff.

There should be no confusion.

Roms are banned. Hacks are not. That's really not hard to follow.

DCM meant that he'd, er, go after people who whine about hacks.

Still, having that officially listed somewhere for posterity wouldn't hurt.

Also, are you sure? It seemed more like he was saying that talking about hacks was fine, but making threads about it or asking for cheats was a no-no. (Which is a bit confusing, really...)
