I came up with a good way to get some items while training those Pokémon and catching the ones you don't have!
Simply get a high leveled Pokémon with the move Thief, have the EXP. Share ON, and have Pokémon with Surf, Fly, and Strength (strength for exploring places you've missed)
Recommended Registered Items:
The three rods and a Dowsing Machine.
Go into a patch of grass/water you need to find Pokémon from that you don't have. When you run into something that you don't need, kill it with Thief (Make sure you don't have anything attached to the Pokémon, otherwise you wont get the item!). If you get an item, take it from the Pokémon with it. You should be getting experience from every Pokémon you run into by killing or catching it! Soon, your Pokémon should level up and you could get some nice amounts of items!
A place I recommend for weak Pokémon: Glittering Cave (the place where you save the researcher from Team Flare). You can find Kangaskhan there (which is a rare Pokémon), as well as Solrock and Lunatone (where you can get good EXP. and get moon/sun stones!), and not to mention there is a healing person outside the cave so you can just keep grinding there for a very long time!
