As you know, tomorrow (April first) is the release date for the DP series in the US. However, I called Barnes and Noble today to ask on the status of my order, and they said that the only one they're slated to get in is my single copy that I special ordered. They said that was a regional thing, so if you live in the Pacific Northwest and you want a copy of this from B&N, you should look into ordering it special just in case. Although you should probably call your local store to make sure.

I should also note that I recieved my copy of the manga about five days early from Amazon.

I asked him to scan the cover and he did...but the uploading site he tried to put it on didn't work.

Or you could...y'know...be an actual fan and just buy the damn thing.

If the "damn thing" was released where I live, I would buy it. But the problem is - it's impossible for me. No money, no access (screw my country) and parents - those three things prevent me from being a real fan.

I already have some titles imported from Singapore (and I can't have more) right now on my bookshelf. So, it's not like eveything I read is scanned by those evil deliquents. If I can't have something, I search for scans. It's quicker, perfectly accessible and free.

1. Get a job. Jobs provide this 'money'. And if you're not old enough? Odd jobs.
2. The internet.
3. Explain to them the details of ordering things online.

Well in OTHER news, dealing with the original thrust of my post, I spoke with B&N again today. Apparently when I spoke with them yesterday, they went ahead and *ordered* the book. Meaning when I reserved it before, it wasn't an order. Since they weren't planning on getting any in, my reserve was pretty much useless without a special order. Which is pretty pathetic--wouldn't you order a book if you get a reserve for it?

He said it'll be coming in from Seattle (as opposed to Reno where the previous guy said) and will take about a week.

I'd go to another store but this is the closest by far *and* I get a discount.

If only it were possible to buy from American Amazon with Paypal or a Debit Card...

I went by a Barnes & Noble today and couldn't find one. If I wasn't returning to Japan in just a few days, I'd just go ahead and order it online from Amazon.com or something like that.

Maybe (hopefully?) they'll have some copies when I return in August? I remember the "Best of" Pokemon Adventures manga was really hard to find when they first came out, but after a few months passed I started to see them more and more. Maybe history will repeat itself with Pokemon DP.

Well, my book came yesterday...and my analysis is complete.

Viz needs to ease up on the contrast. The pages that were full color in the Japanese version are too dark! I compared them with my Japanese book and they are far too dark...

The page with Pipup, Chimchar, and Turtwig in the Pokeballs is also too dark...you should be able to see a bit more of them.

Other than that, it was nice to read something besides the first chapter in English.

Maybe it's a good thing we only did the first chapter. :p

So this already came out? Er..guess another thing to do when I go out today. Hopefully the Borders here has it. >.>

Also:

The back cover uses the art from the Japanese version...but the joke is only half way there. Lifting the dust jacket reveals...

See?

Lol. Poor Jun. You don't mess with Mitsumi.

Can't wait to get this. Looks like a good time.
