I realize this is a bit over a week old and some of you probably caught it in the news

Yes, that is a perfectly formed and clearly defined eye straight dab in the middle of our friend the great blizzard of 2006 (the eye is a bit south and to the east of Cape May on this picture). (And for the records, yes, the Great Blizzard did attain hurricane-force winds (Category-2 peak gusts in Nova Scotia)).
Thanks to not forming over tropical or subtropical areas (among other things) it doesn't get the hurricane monicker (or the Alberto name), but still...
