Customizable player characters. Instead of having little choice over what you look like to others in the Union Room/Wi-Fi Plaza, and having the same player character as everybody else, how about actually having a customization system at the beginning of the game? I mean, to conserve memory, I'm sure the options would be limited. But something would be better than nothing. I know it's probably not gonna happen, but I think it would be a nice idea. What does everybody else think?

character customization would take up data and mess the beginning of the region in the anime up.
 
The female trainer always goes with Ash when he gets to a new region and character customization would mess it up. Character customization should only be on games like PBR, XD, and Col.

You know, the girl could just... you know, CHANGE HER CLOTHES EVERY DAY!
 
Or alternatively, she could be the "base" design, which the player character starts off as, before you get the option of changing anything

Yeah, the only thing we need to know about the new girl is that Pikachu is obviously going to fry her bike halfway to hell.

She could easily just be the base design, as Robotnik says. I doubt they'll have character customization, though.

I admit I wouldn't mind slight customisations, but with the amount of sprites they'd have to make, I'd say it's 96.74346% unlikely that we'll get any customisation, and if we do, it'll just be re-colours. Although tbh...I'd love a cape...MAKE A PROTAGONIST WITH A CAPE GAMEFREAK!
 
I WANT CUSTOMISATION! Then, when battling on WiFi, people see what you look like. Cooooooooool.

That, or just go with the default. I don't really see how character customization will "mess up the anime", they're pretty infamous for not taking game-related stuff and implimenting it to the anime... so they could just leave it out as a whole. Or do what they did with Dawn, she changed into her Platinum outfit for the Snowpoint part of the saga and wore her D/P outfit for the rest of the time, and then there's her Contest outfits too.
 
Personally, I love this idea. Admittedly, I'm a huge sucker for customization in games. Spore, Sims, you name it, I've got it. It's the creative nature in me.

Another idea, though, is customization on Pokemon: nothing extreme, obviously, just like scarves or accessories similar to what you can put on your Pokemon when you dress them up. Just a suggestion. I'm currently bracing myself for the inevitable barrage of abuse this idea is probably going to receive...
 
Yeah, I'd want character customization, at least with clothing. Two, maybe three options per gender, and I'm good. =3
 
I think the screenshots we've seen so far would prove that there will be no character customation. So if you want to customize characters, you'll just have to wait and then buy PBR2.
