A new way of introducing the next companion(s)

I had this idea just now: what if in the final episodes of BW or whatever Ash meets the girl/boy he'll travel in the next series? Like Ash meets him/her/them, they spend some time together and head over to the next region together. Ash would be interest in the place their heading to and they'd eventually travel together. I mean, they usually show Pokemon from the new gen in the current Anime series that's ending soon.

What do you think? And what other ways should the next companions be introduced in your opinions?
 
Only really works if the new companion(s) aren't beginning trainers. What is a beginning trainer doing in another region before his/her journey has begun?

I could see someone like Harrison appearing to give Ash interest in a new region but other than that it's IMO a longshot.

I dunno. On vacation or visiting a friend, leading to Ash meeting him/her/them. Use your imagination.

So, a new trainer who doesn't own pokemon is going to get involved in Ash's Pokemon adventure because she went to visit a friend that is in another region she has probably never been to right before her pokemon journey? Alright. Imagined.

I suppose this would give her a few extra episodes of screen time....

I was only suggesting. You could say that Ash would inspire her to become a Pokemon Trainer. Honestly, I'm only stating an idea. I haven't worked out the details since I don't know what's in store for us next generation. If the writers were to try this out (with or without my suggestion), it'd be up to them to expand on this.

What about you? What would be your ideas on introducing the next companion(s)?
 
Hopefully next generation Ash isn't there anymore! XD and we have a new beginnig trainer!
But in the case Ash stays for another season and Iris and Cilan doesn't get exchanged(what I really doubt): the new companions could be introduced in different ways!
*like an the assistent of the first gym leader which needs to improve his skills!
*as a cousin of Ash, after visiting his aunt(uncle) he decides to take his cousin on his trip.
*or Ash's stalker XD
*** The only important thing for me is an active goal. The companion doesn't have to be a coordinator but some more episodes so the focus and Pokes can be cought by Ash!
 
This sounds like an unusually fresh and creative idea. Which means it's well beyond what TPTB are capable of. :(

I think if I were running the show, I might try something like this.

To be fair, they have had those burst of creativity now and then. Who know? Maybe they'll think of this.
 
Pretty good. Although I prefer if it's a girl his age and not some teen who looks to be in 6th or 7th grade....I doubt they would keep Iris and Cilan, but I would prefer two girls instead of a two boy and a girl team: would be new.
 
I would like that Brock comes back. Seriously. And I would like if Ash doesn't get amnesia again and that he actually uses more then Pikachu.
 
I always thought good idea would be if writers tried out concept of two girls at same time in cast. One could be more mature and experienced, while other starting out as beginner which could bring new dynamic in cast taking it on whole new level.
It would be interesting to see how would interaction between characters work out if Ash traveled with two females allowing to establish some kind of sister relationship between them,with more mature character taking on mentors role to inexperienced one.
Sam old formula of two males and one girl in cast is way overused and repetitive with writers bringing discrepancy between genders with such approach. Granted i suppose they find its more appropriate if mommy and older caretaker of Ash and co is male,but it would still be possible to try put two girls in cast if they decided to form another group of four like they did in Hoenn.

When it comes to more mature and experienced females, i think bringing some well liked companion from past like Misty would be good idea, being unexpected twist. She is great character and it would be interesting to find out more about past, herself,do further progress toward goal or try out different quest being in training to become elite trainer one day etc.
I know it wont happen, but we can dream right?

Speaking of characters in general, if i were to ask i would try out someone who used to be ex member of TR or some other evil organization trying to repent himself and sharing his past with Ash and other characters. He could be hitting road trying to become gym leader, Frontier Brain or some other high classed trainer going on quest to open new chapter in life and accomplish his dreams.
