This is a random girl. It *was* supposed to actually be someone, but she's not a very versatile character and I just could not draw her for the life of me. So instead, here is random girl. I drew her on an envelope. I may still need work, but I know it's definitely a huge improvement over my past pics. In you opinion, should I add a background or not? I was thinking of doing a horizantal gradient starting with light green at the top and going to dark green near that bottom. I certainly want to add a background, tell me what you think.

That's pretty good! Really, I like the style you used on it, and it is of course leaps and bounds above what i could draw.

She looks like a YuGiOh character. Her neck looks kind of fat compared to her shoulders. The coloring is nice and so is the shading. As for the background... why don't you add some kind of pattern? Like the marks on her face randomly put on the bg.
