Who wants that Nintendo make an app for some iPhone holders "A Pokédex App"....
Like Ash's Pokédex..

Fuck yeah. But an official one, and well made, and doesn't just link to Serebii.

Yeah, i mean the official one of the Nintendo, i want the one who speaks,,,

I'll need to buy an iphone first, though...

If your savin' some bucks, why don't you buy an iPod touch,

just saying what purpose would this serve in the real world what walk around find a pokemon?

I personally don't, I prefer the Official Game Guides they already release. I don't speak for everyone though, some would like it and if it was very exceptionally done I would buy it.

So long as it isn't another one stealing from Bulbapedia.

I remember this.

I think it'd be pretty cool, but at the same time if Nintendo made it themselves, it probably wouldn't be as detailed as something a big fan [or fan community] would put in.

Unfortunately, we already had a big fan make one... read quote for details.

It'd be convenient. It'd be nice. I don't have an iPhone/iPod Touch XD

No, like, all the information they publish in the books they release—where to find them, their stats, when and how they evolve, movesets, egg groups, everything—but as an iPhone app. We aren't talking about a Pokédex toy.

There is an app for iphone that uses the camera to scan barcodes at stores to tell where the cheapest place to get that product is.

It would be badass, if your phone could scan a photo or picture of a pokemon and do the whole computerized pokedex voice from the anime to describe what the pokemon is.

sadly, I don't think that will be possible.

You're soo silly, it's too futurific.. i just want an app like ash's that speaks

:| Why would it speak then? You'd need to do something for it to speak, and taking a photo of something (in-game, some plushie, whatever) and have it then show a picture of the corresponding pokémon (or what pokémon it thinks it to be xD) and activate a pre-recorded line as well.

In concept it's similar to the barcode app mentioned above. It's probably possible, but also probably somewhat difficult. Since in this case it would need some 500 (and soon even more) dex entries as well as the pre-recorded lines if they want to have it talk, that would also make it somewhat big too. But pretty much, what it would have to do is to look at the picture and find certain features and then categorize whatever it is into one of the pokémon options and when it does it would display the information and activate a pre-recorded line.

However, what use that would have is beyond me. It would be a cute fun app rather than something useful really. It might be amusing to take photos of non-pokémon things and see what the program decides it is. xD

I would see something similar in factual things like what's on bulbapedia as being something useful over a talking dex. You enter in a search term for it to find the pokémon you want or find it out of certain groups. After selecting the pokémon you want to see, it provides information like that on the bulbapedia pages (without leeching).

Now I really want one.

I wonder what I would get if I took a picture of my French teacher...

Not a Granbull. Probably not a Slaking either...

I'd prefer something useable on more than one device. But yeah, I've wanted a Pokedex application for some time now.

I'd prefer if there were an Android app instead. Oh, wait, there is! =D

It's not that good, though. I wish it'd be better. As for an iPhone OS app, as much as I hate iPhone OS, I think it'd be cool to see an app of this variety on any phone. Hell, let's get a Blackberry and WebOS (even though it's probably gonna die soon) app, too.

ive seen a video of a guy who's made jarvis the personal computer assistant of tony stark aka iron man so this would be possible i think it'd be a useful app for gamers :D

I remember years and years ago when I was like 11 I got this pokedex, it was like a real pokedex in the anime and it had the first 151 Pokemon (It was released in the first gen I believe) and to find a POkemon you just had to press the number of the Pokemon. I think I have it somewhere but doesn't work anymore (I imagine).

They could do something like that but only more advanced and with more then 493 Pokemon (To include the new gen). It would be kind of cool, especially if you are writing a story and don't have the net in your room and you can't go onto your sis's but wants to find out something about a Pokemon. I have been thinking about getting an Iphone (My old mobile is my first ever and I got it in like 2005, but I have a feeling that it's gonna die soon or stop working)
