So I was looking at the threads for "A Pokémon for each US state", and "A Pokémon for each country", and figured Pokémon could apply here. So, for each day, according to holidays/significant events that fell on that day, what do you think?

For March 1st and March 31st, I think it would be Luxray and Mareep (March: In like a lion, out like a lamb), Thundurus for August 29 (Day Katrina made landfall in Louisiana), Braviary for July 4th (No need to explain here) Typhlosion for August 24th (Date of Pompeii eruption) Delibird for December 24th/25th ( No explanation needed. XP).

I was also thinking of either Lunatone or Deoxys for July 20th, (Date of first moon landing), Blaziken or Infernape for September 11th (Represents the fight the US put up afterwards, and the fire that took place that day), and either Bulbasaur or Arceus for January 1st. (First Pokémon in Pokédex order, first Pokémon in myth & legend.)

The first moon landing was July 20th, not 16th.

Solrock for June 21st (Summer Solstice)
Spiritomb for October 31st (Halloween)

Luvdisc for February 14th.

Buneary/Lopunny for Easter (which varies year by year).

Kangaskhan for Mother's Day (again, varies).

I was iffy on Delibird, considering it sucks. :/

@CliveKoopa Huh, that's odd, it said that on the website I went to. Editing.

Huh? Which website did you go to? The moon landings were July 20th 1969. That website is obviously wrong. They may have left Earth on 16th or 17th but the landings were definetely on the 20th.

Delibird for Christmas?

What's weird about that? Delibird is known as the Present Pokemon, gives out presents and is an ice type pokemon, an obvious reference to the season. I don't see what's so wrong about that choice.

I checked on Google and it says that Apollo 11 left Earth of the 16th but I know for a fact that it landed on the moon on the 20th.

20th of March is Tropius.

That day a cyclone practically wiped out all the Australian banana's.

Exeggutor for my birthday!

It makes sense since my birthday is Palm Sunday...

solrock for the Summer Solstice and lunatone for the Winter Equinox and arceus for new years eve and mew for new years day luvdisc for valentine's day either misdreavus or litwick for halloween and torterra for earth day and aron or glaceon for my birthday =D

A Pokémon could be used for Chinese New Year's day depending on which animal the year is of. I will list the names of the animals which the years can be of and the pokémon used for them:
Rat - Rattata, Raticate, Patrat, Watchog
Ox - Tauros, Bouffalant
Tiger - Raikou
Rabbit - Buneary, Lopunny
Dragon - Gyarados, Rayquaza
Snake - Ekans, Arbok, Seviper
Horse - Ponyta, Rapidash and Biltzle, Zebstrika (I know these are based on zebras but a zebra is a type of horse)
Goat - Whimisicott
Monkey - Mankey, Chimchar, Monferno, Infernape
Rooster - Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken
Dog- Snubbull, Granbull, Lillipup, Herdier, Stoutland
Pig- Grumpig, Tepig, Pignite, Emboar

Darkrai for Augest 20th since it's H.P. Lovecraft's birthday :|

His stories were the stuff of nightmares.
XD;

...
And Darkrai=The Nightmare Pokémon. Nuff said.

I usually think that most Ghost and Dark type Pokemon are suitable for Halloween because of their scary themes.

What can you do for Ponyta and Rapidash? There's no set day associated for horses unless you count the Grand National but that date changes ever year.
