I was wondering, if anyone could represent a U.S. state with a Pokémon, which state and Pokémon would it be?

For Arizona, I would associate it with Ho-Oh, since Phoenix is the capital of Arizona and Ho-Oh is a Phoenix.

For states, I'd say these.

Florida: Sunflora (Sunshine state)
Hawaii: Tropius (I don't think I need to explain this one lol)
Alaska: Abomasnow (lots of snow and plants)
Pennsylvania: Steelix (Pittsburgh was once the biggest steel industry in the country. I should know, I'm from the city)
Michigan: Uxie (the Great Lakes being in the cold north)
New York: Pikachu (the most well-known Pokemon for the US's most well-known state)
South Dakota: Rampardos (because this state has some of the last ground dinosaurs ever walked on and Dinosaur National Monument is located here)

This is all I can think of right now. xP

Or Michigan could get Raikou, since it's tiger-striped and we are the home of the Detroit Tigers.

Kentucky for Torchic. Since the state is famous for its fried chicken(KFC).

For states, I'd say these.

Okay, these ideas are just genius! :D

All I can think of for Illinois is Deerling, because A). It's one of the biggest agricultural states for the Grass type B). All 4 seasons are strong there (I'm from there lol), and C). Illinois was dubbed "the most average state" -_- for the Normal type

Cool thread topic btw

Oregon would be Bibarel but only because there isn't a salmon pokemon yet.

And we're the Beaver State. So, Bibarel would make so much sense XD

Idaho would be Sableye since Idaho is the 'Gem State' and, from the Bulbapedia on Sableye: Their most distinguishing features are their gemstone-like eyes, which allow them to see in very little light. They have gemstones on their chests which grow as a result of its crystal and mineral diet. They are able to feed on such hard foods because of their sharp razor teeth, which are designed to crunch up rocks.

In Idaho, we would choose Charizard.
Because we like to choose things that don't really pertain to our state at all!

But since we are the gem state, maybe Sableye?

Sandile for Florida, maybe? :D yay, Gators I mean, alligators XD!

Mississippi should be Wishcash because most of the USA's catfish comes from there

I think New Jersey, where I live, would be Cherubi, for all of the berries it grows.

Maryland: Krabby (Mmmm... Maryland Crab cakes)
Alaska: Kingler (For Alaskan King Crab... I think the trend is I'm craving seafood >.>)
New York: Pidgey (What's a trip to NYC without seeing a ton of pigeons?)

Edit:
I think New Jersey, where I live, would be Cherubi, for all of the berries it grows.

Should New Jersey be like Trubbish? Newark always seems to smell funny...
