I just thought about two things that may occur during the Sinnoh League tournament. During the Paul vs. Barry fight, I have already talked about how Barry may find out Paul’s true colors during the match and “disown” him as his idol (funny how he looks up to Paul like Wake in the game).
Now, I think that his Munchlax may appear during the match. I know that in the games, at the time of the league it is already a Snorlax, but follow me on this one. The match is raging and Paul’s powerful team is picking Barry’s apart. He then thinks that the only way to match Paul is by pushing his Pokemon and insulting them like Paul does. However, it has been shown that Barry cares about his Pokemon. Munchlax is taking a beating and Paul insults it and Barry probably with his famous line; “pathetic.” This ticks off Barry as he realizes that Paul is in no way the person he thought he was. He then apologizes to Munchlax and it is so touched that it evolves into Snorlax and the match continues with it doing so damage to Paul’s team. Though finally Barry goes down in defeat, but learns more about taking Ash’s words about working as a team with his Pokemon to heart. I think that this might happen with his Empoleon if the above scenario does not take place.
Now, moving on to Heatran; as soon as I heard a “legendary” Pokemon was going to be in the league it was the first to pop into my head out of all the other Sinnoh legends. I was thinking about how it is said that DP will end in a few episodes (I don’t know if Ash goes on to the Sinnoh Elite 4, Champion and Battle Frontier), and I thought about Charon. He escaped at the end of the Galatic Arc and was not seen again since. I was thinking the show was going to take after the game with his own quest to gain the power of Heatran. Then when I heard about the series ending soon, I was thinking that they would somehow put this Pokemon near the end of the series (omit that Pokemon Ranger special about it). Do you think that Ash will battle this Pokemon? Also, do you think Charon will appear once again? I don’t think he’ll appear with TG at the league in an attempt to steal it; though it would be completely unexpected if they were to do such a thing. I bet Cynthia would help out and everyone would find out about how Ash and the gang helped save Sinnoh.
