Does it still work when the Pokémon evolves and the name is changed? Oh and I accidentally spelled Masuda wrong.

Yes, it will work. The Pokemon still originates from a cartridge in another language.

If you got a (PAL?) Platinum, you could always narrow the offered Ditto down to only Japanese ones. I got a Japanese Lv29 Ditto by trading my English Lv22 Ditto away. I may check if I'd find another one, and then I could trade the other one to you
