Generation 9 A question about video game cartridges

So, I can't buy Legends Z-A but I can borrow it from the library. The library doesn't have any available copies of the Switch 2 version, but it does have an available copy of the Switch 1 version. I've used cartridges from my Switch 1 games, like my Shield copy. So can I just borrow the Switch 1 version of Pokemon Legends ZA?

I don't see why not? The Switch 2 is near-fully backwards compatible with Switch 1 games.

Edit: For the record, "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" physical cartridges work on Switch 1 as well! They can detect which console the cart is in and load the correct version of the game. this of course doesn't work with Switch 2 exclusives but it's good to know

The Switch 2 doesn't REQUIRE Switch 2 cartridges, as it's nearly fully backwards compatible afaik. I believe the S2 carts just make better use of S2 features. (I don't own a S2 yet so this is just my common knowledge.)

echoing everyone above, i've had no issues with my switch 1 carts working on my switch 2 so the switch 1 cart should work just fine.

i'm just impressed that your library circulates video games. thats pretty cool.
