Um...hope this is the right place to ask...

I've been considering making a series of video walkthroughs for some of the Pokemon games. However, I've run into some problems. I don't have a proper camcorder, and my regular camera (a Nikon CoolPix) has pretty bad resolution when filming off of my DS. I'd prefer not to use an emulator if possible, but at this point I really don't know what any other options would be. If I WERE to use an emulator, I'm also not sure how I would film from it.

Also, about editing. I haven't yet used the video program on my computer (a laptop, specifically a MacBook Pro), and while I've looked at it and tried to figure out how to work it, the mechanics still elude me. If anyone's familiar with iMovie, or can help me with any of my other questions, it would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's either running it from an emulator, or plugging the game into some adaptor for a console (Such as say, Game Boy Player) and record from the TV (as in, actually getting the video on the computer, not filming the screen. But I don't know how's that done...) However, there is the obvious problem of no such a thing for DS games...

Also as much as I am trying to not encourage it, many emulators have features to record to avi, so it's probably the easiest solution. I assume you are aiming more for the real thing, though.

I was hoping not to use an emulator, yes. If I really need to, I will -- I would just prefer not to.
