a side chapter (coluseum/XD) proposal

Something I had thought of after reading the emerald chapter was: why didn'nt they make a orre chapter? Ruby and Sapphire could go to the orre region on profs. Birch and the orre ones request. They could meet Wes and michel and find out what's causing the shadow pokémon and face team snagem/cipher along the way
 
That actually would have been a really cool idea, I love the Colosseum/XD games. My guess is they either ran out of time (Gen III was busy: RS then FRLG then E) or because the Colo/XD games aren't on handhelds (though they are usually counted as "main series" by a lot of fans, at least from what I've seen)
 
I was thinking something like a frlg or e chap that only has 3/4 volumes. And the main reason for thinking about this was: geesh ruby and sapphire must be realy bored they need to do something. Wouldn't you agree?
 
An Colosseum/XD-based arc would be awesome to read but Kusaka was probably busy planning out the other arcs and by the time the Generation 3 arcs were out, it was past the Colosseum/XD release. There is also the fact that the Orre games can be counted as a side-game series by some...

Although the manga adaption would be nice since Kusaka did make an adaption of the second Ranger game if I remember. As well as some references to certain side-games (Pokémon Snap comes to mind).
